That's tragic. If she was in Diabetic Ketoacidosis, she was metabolically wayyyyyyy out of whack. DKA is very treatable with some insulin to get the blood sugar down and IV fluids to flush out the metabolic wastes.
But do you really want the government telling people how to raise their children? Freedom of choice, man!
Oh, you're absolutely right. This is a tragedy, and I hope the parents rot in jail, at least until the other inmates can finish the job.
Now that that's out of the way.... What rules should parents have to follow? What things should be government be able to force parents to do or not do?
The sad thing is that you could let these nuts rot in jail and they'd never even realize they did anything wrong. So it is with religious zealots. Better to just shoot them and avoid the burden of futile rehabilitation.
Sad. The mother is obviously delusional if she thinks her daughter can be resurrected. Unfortunately, people like this exist in the world with tragic results for the offspring. But in the end, is it not a form of Darwinism? You can't fight nature, baby. You just can't.
