For the first time ever, we see not only 1, but 2 download only titles in the running for GOTY. The Walking Dead and Journey were great titles and certainly deserve this honor. I have played all the GOTY nominees except Dishonored, but maybe I'll get a chance to at some point. For me personally, my favorite gaming moments were in Mass Effect 3, Borderlands 2 and The Walking Dead.
You'll never guess what my game of the year is. But Telltale definitely deserves its own prize for The Walking Dead.
Not a big gamer, but I saw trailers for "Journey". It looked a magnificent experience and an interesting departure from the culture of "blow shit up". I'm gutted it's not on PC.
I haven't played any of those. I think the only game I've played that was released this year was Civ V: Gods & Kings.
I just finished The Walking Dead last night. I was very moved by it unlike any other game I've played. However, I don't think it will win GOTY simply because it was so buggy and glitchy. I think that's a shame because given the scope of what Telltale Games was trying to do and the fact that none of them we're game breakers, I find them forgivable... and the media blow up around Mass Effect 3 will probably eliminate this one. Nevermind the fact that I still play this game to this day after 9 months. Along with millions of others. If I were betting, I'd say Dishonored wins GOTY. Although I've never played it, it seems to be universally lauded amongst games critics and they're the ones giving the award.
What's your most anticipated game of 2013? GTA V seems like the obvious choice, but then I see titles like Tomb Raider and the Last of Us and I get a little unsure. I plan on playing Bioshock Infinite as well, but that game has been delayed so long I kind of list focus on it.
Oh yeah.. I'll try to "console" myself by playing Journey and The Last of Us. I thought you complained of some bugs at one point in episode 3...?
Yeah, one of the characters turned invisible for a few minutes in one episode. I'd hardly say that makes the whole game buggy or glitchy. Hell, most games I've played (console or PC) have some kind of bug.
Borderlands 2 wins Best Shooter and Best Multiplayer. New trailer from The Last of Us and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2!!!
