Nope. The EC is a relic of a bygone era and needs to be done away with. Period. Paragraph.

I am actually glad he makes these mistakes now. Get them out there and show he should not be the nominee. It is a good time for them to sink his ship, and he does need to sink his ship. This is a way that he sinks himself without turning his voters away or making them angry at the party. The best way for joe to go down is on himself.

So, Bernie Sanders went on Joe Rogan's podcast.

I'm waiting to hear what @The Night Monkey has to say about what Bernie said.

Oh my, was that Bernie talking to @The Sock Monkey 's favorite person? Perhaps the boy's head exploded. I think I heard a loud pop last night.

Hey, could the mods please change the boy's name to ass monkey? If they do I might try to record a rap song about him.

Warren apparently has decided to go full out BLM.......

Even Obama's DOJ under Eric Holder cleared the officer.

Also Fat Ass Nadler formally initiated Impeachment Hearings against Trump. The Democrats didn't make a big deal about it though.

So we are close to one half of my crazy prediction coming true. ;)

Thank you Nadler for helping Trump win 2020.

It is about fucking time. This is not saying he is guilty, but that there is certainly a reason to investigate deeper into his actions and connections. For the public knowledge. Under the same reasoning that Hillary's emails were relevant we should also be shown what trump did in a public investigation into impeachable offenses. That is what congress should do when there are irregularities with the president. I would apply that to any democrat president also.

So were the Republicans in 2016, and that turned out well for them. Not so much the country, but that's another story.

If you really want to fix the US Presidential election system, it's not a matter of eliminating the electoral college and going to a (disastrous) strict popular vote. Here's what you need to do:
    1. Take the money out of the system. No contributions allowed, by anyone. Publicly fund the elections. You get X dollars to run your campaign and that's it. As a corollary, each candidate is required to participate in the debates, regardless of which party they represent. Each candidate is also required to make at least one campaign appearance in each state.
    2. On election day, the polls are open for 24 hours. The same 24 hours all across the country. Election day is also a national holiday, so no-one needs to be at work while the polls are open. Well, except for the poll workers, of course.
    3. No exit polls, no calling states for candidates, no predictions allowed. No reporting until the polls close.
    4. Voting districts must be drawn accounting only for geometry and population, probably by some automated means. No "safe" districts.
    Then we see what happens.

Beto seems to have an ego problem. When urged to run for Senate instead, he said it was "not good enough."

A person that sees themselves as a potential president might not be happy with the idea of being just one out of a hundred.

The flipside of your argument that Warren and Sanders are "too old" is that Beto's only 46. A term or two in the Senate would give him brand recognition to run for the WH.

Historically speaking the most common age range for American presidents has been in the 50s.

#1, #3, and #4 are extremely questionable constitutionally. And #2 is foolish. Why not just put a trail of cash or candy to the voting booths?

Obama was 47 when he won in 2008 and had done a grand total of three years in the Senate before winning.

It's totally understandable how someone mired in such mediocrity for 60+ years such as yourself would see drive and ambition as "ego"

Which is one reason I don't think Obama figured he would win the nomination or the election when he started his campaign. I figured he started out thinking he might come in second for the nomination to Hillary Clinton, then if she won he could run in 2016 at the age of 55 with more than a decade in the Senate behind him.

Or if Hillary won in 2008 and lost in 2012, Obama could run in 2016 at the same age and with the same background.
