I didn’t say anything about her winning the primaries. I don’t think she will, but that poll is important because it’s New Hampshire which is an important primary to win. So laugh it up, fuzz ball, but if she gets just four more points, she’s in the next debate and it puts her a lot closer to the other top four. That and if she wins NH, that’s huge and it means that Warren doesn’t get to skate to the nomination. Had you’d watched the rest of the video, you would know that. It’s important to pay attention to the details.
Her plan is a fantasy. 52 trillion, get real. You can’t tax enough rich people to pay for without taxing the middle class as well, there’s just not enough money, even if you tax them 100%. It won’t sit well with the general public either. Your problem is you’re so far left, you can’t see how it won’t work. Oh and let’s not forget that the cost is always higher than they say, every, fucking, time.
So basically, if she doubles in popularity from this one outlier poll she will be more popular, yes. That is less a surge and more a slight ripple.
@Nova literally just posted a lengthy analysis by an opponent of Medicare for All who concluded that yes, her stated plans would pay for it. Can you point out where Zandi's analysis is wrong, or is this just more "I know that it can't work because my feelings said so"?
Definitely… among party elites and megadonors. Voters, not so much. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...nicking-over-2020-but-democratic-voters-arent
Considering how the right fell in line behind Trump that's only a problem if you think Democrats have more conviction in their principles.
how do you know he was a ginger? Were you......intimate with him at some point or something? Not judging just asking!
Q.v. the numerous painting made while he was alive. Besides, some of Sally Hemings' descendants were redheads.
Translation: Some Pro wrestler said it was not so that must be true, along with aliens, and magic bullets.
Or, it's a cash grab. Not only do former Presidential candidates get to charge higher speaking fees, but they also can engage in some "creative accounting" with their campaign war chests after they throw in the towel.
Close friend of Biden and Warren too. Most obvious hypothesis to me is that some billionaire(s) -maybe even Bloomberg himself- bought him into the race (i.e. promised to make it financially worth his while) to give it a go as a hail-mary of the most extreme sort. What it tells me is that they are very sure that Warren is currently the most likely nominee and they can't sleep at night for fear of a president who doesn't kiss their collective rich asses.
multiple highly credential economists, most of them objective, including those hostile to the idea that she still sought out for the most unbiased view...conclude she can Rando on the internet who can't be bothered to read over half a dozen paragraphs is certain she can't. Which should I take seriously? Decisions decisions..
Again, I don't think that the objective of Bloomberg and others who might decide to enter at this point is to get the nomination, it's to take the attention off the legitimate candidates so that Trump doesn't lose. They're certain he'll be impeached either just before or just after the election, and they'll wind up with the much more malleable Pence in the Oval Office along with a large enough contingent of Dems in Congress so they don't have to worry that Pence'll be able to get through a "Kill the Gays" law like he almost certainly wants.
Yep. The Intercept discusses it, too: https://theintercept.com/2019/11/15/pete-buttigieg-campaign-black-voters/ I know some folks seem to really like him, and that's fine, but I see him as an empty suit.
Pete's going to be on the surge train for a while. He checks all of the Democratic party boxes. He's like a younger Joe Biden: safe, corporate, charismatic enough to promise people everything will go back to normal and they'll believe it. Whether he can hold that position remains to be seen, but for now he's the darling of the DNC.
\Some of it is like the republican race last time. People are going to shuffle around and test the waters with the candidates. Since the back end candidates do not get tried in the press this actually serves some purpose to seeing who can stand up the best. As you have the front runners get pounded on their issues people will look to see if others have a better chance. I cannot necessarily blame the moderates for looking at others over the senator from MBNA. Good old Joe has a real problem with how he helped destroy students, fight bussing, and weaken banker regulations while taking big money from the banks.
