Trivia: the British are the ones who named our tanks during WW2. We just called them M4 Medium or M3 Light (not to be confused with the M3 Medium, one version of which the Brits name Lee, the other verson Grant :what:). We didn't start naming them ourselves until postwar. :async: :ramen:

I'd be more persuaded if she was holding a physical copy of the book.
    But it's an irrelevant nitpick.

tell me you're talking out your ass without telling me you're talking out your ass?

seriously... let's look at some of the most "non socialist" countries... how many are really any freer than, say, Cuba?

Thailand has some pretty free markets. They'll also throw you into a cage with 200 other people for the roach of a joint or fine you for not wearing the right colour on the right day.

How'd the Pinochet years work for Chile?

Hell, even among "western democracies", where does the hyper free market of the USA put you on the freedoms index (even with your half assed, under funded socialized infrastructure)?

Scandinavia is very much free market, they just tax heavily for their robust social programs. They are social-ish

It doesn't undermine your overall point, but on a bit of a tangent it's wild the stories I've heard from people who have gone to Thailand in the past few months since they've really relaxed the marijuana laws. Vending machines full of edibles and the like and bars selling joints.

fair enough... most of the friends I've had visit there haven't been since pre covid times... and they were far more concerned about the $5/ three girl massages and 50 cent beer.

another who is a lot more straight laced got stuck there, but is fortunate enough to have a paid off townhouse downtown here. She rented that out and has become a PR there, even reigniting her side career as an operatic singer/stage actor...

y'know... when I was doing the silversmithing a bunch of years back, I almost constantly had a pinner burning... steadies the nerves.

Hobby Lobby is really shooting themselves in the foot here as a lot of stoners like intricate projects that require being focused.

I mean, at least it mentions it's inert.
But...if I want a toy grenade, it should do a thing, like be a cigarette lighter, or a flashlight, or have mints, or gum, or Nerds inside, or something.

Weird since so VERY many reactionary libertarians insist that places like Denmark and Sweeden are socialist and if I listed off all the social democracy aspects of governments from New Zealand and Norway to Canada to the Netherlands and a dozen more you personally would say "we can't do that! That's socialism!

So...um...no, there's no Dictator of Sweeden.
