Lucky you don't live there, and can freely vote for Trump. Which you will, of course.

Question - Trump can't be listed as a candidate on the Colorado ballot, but can folk write him in?

Defender of democracy doesn’t want the people to decide who they want for president. No surprise there since you support our fascist president.

They can, but whether they’ll be counted is another matter. If it’s like CA, it’d be reported as “Write-in (other)”. The state Republican Party can also just cancel their primary and simply send as many Trump delegates to the national convention as they’d like, or they can use the “Write-in (other)” results to estimate the number of Trump votes, or impute a number from 2020 or 2016 results, whatever. Because it’s basically a private assembly affair (albeit subsidized and run by the state), there’s not actually much practical effect of the ruling, if Republicans don’t want there to be; they can just change the rules.

But it does indicate that the SCOCO justices are highly inclined to prevent Trump from being on the general election ballot as well. This ruling was a warning to the Republicans: “nominate someone else, or you won’t have a candidate on our ballot in November.” It would have been much more partisan to allow him on the primary ballot but not the general. Now the Republican Party has a chance to still have a candidate in Colorado. Also if SCOTUS reverses on the primary because the nomination process is covered by the 1st amendment and so primary candidates for any office are not covered by the 14AS3, (as opposed to determining that the presidency is not covered by it), having this ruling prevents laches and other grounds for appeal of a case where they prevent Trump from being on the general election ballot. There was no misleading anyone by allowing him to run at the beginning of a process which the court or Secretary of State knew ahead of time he would not be eligible for the end of.

Interestingly, if CO is like CA, if he were removed from the general ballot, write-ins for him would definitely not count because write-ins for President are all counted as votes for alternate electors. And presidential elector is most definitely covered by 14AS3. Only a court’s determination of “not an insurrectionist” or a ⅔ vote in Congress would save him there.

I'm just wondering how Biden is a fascist beyond the fact he's a Democrat and that he isn't Trump.

Trump is trying to strip the word of its meaning, and thus its power.
FF is just going along with it.

Of course he is, he's a Trumper posing as an "independent thinker."

Most people conflate fascism with authoritarianism when they're not the same. I believe the US Presidency has too much power invested in one person, but I believe that's true regardless of which political party the President belongs to. Biden is arguably following the permanent Imperial Presidency doctrine every president since WWII has followed, but Trump fancied himself as the CEO of the United States. He's a totally different animal than any president we've seen since maybe Andrew Jackson. He believes in true authoritarianism. The man was baffled at the idea of checks and balances and openly attempted to subvert an election. Reagan never did that. Shrub never even did that. Trump is a unique threat to American democracy, and if you don't think so you're a fool.

You would think that's the one thing we could all agree on in here, but some people would rather just sling mud at Biden then confront the actual truth. Because partisanship dies hard.

I can help here. First there was regular FF. Then Faceman came along and was just a bit stupider, but much more funny. Then FF decided to double down on the stupid and be not so much funny so we could tell the difference. So if it is twice as stupid, but seriously not funny, then it is FF.

Biden is fascist because he asks trump to politely follow the law if it is not too much of a inconvenience for a rich white man. As I can see that would seem to be the definition of fascism to rich white dudes.

So much for "Nazis are commies, because socialism is in the name".
