Indiana will continue to have a Republican governor and Elizabeth Warren will continue to represent Massachusetts in the Senate, so we're currently in the "results that surprise no one" portion of the program.
I'm just wanting Ohio to go blue this election, if for no other reason than a repudiation of Donald Trump.
In Florida, just like everywhere else, a strong majority supports abortion rights despite everything DeSantis did to ratfuck the election. It's just that in Florida, a majority isn't enough.
I was listening to the young turks trying to spin it as something the legislature enforced when in reality it was the people themselves that voted for that 60 percent threshold back in 2006. Facts are stubborn things.
Republicans shouldn't start sucking each other off just yet. There's still a lot of votes to count. Nothing is for certain...except your rank hypocrisy, of course.
As soon as the polls close out in the west, they will project Harris winning California, Oregon and Washington which will wipe out his lead.
Yeah, there's pretty much always a Republican lead in called states at this point in the night. The Deep South is all in the Eastern and Central time zones.
If you look at the map you still have CA and a whole lisrt of heavy dem northeastern states on the right looking to go blue. You have to remember the red vs blue map of the US is very deceptive because it is going to look mostly red when you consider the northeastern states are much more jam packed with people than montana. Harris has a lot more to gain while most of the Trump states have been called in that map. VA, NC, and GA are decent sized states, but they are not going to put him over the top. Where is you add up the west coast wirth the east coast non-called states it is going to put Harris over the top. We will see, but this is the same sort of thing Trump whined about last election. You go to sleep on election night with a lot of Trump states counted and confirmed, and then you have the northeast finish the counts on a lot of their votes while the west coast comes in strong for blue. The4n in the morning he claims they stole the election overnight when really it is the fact that it takes a lot longer to count the votes in populated states than it does to count votes in rural nowhere states.
So far the only surprise is Iowa. Virginia will be called for Harris once fairfax and DC votes come in. They always lag behind for whatever reason.
It is also much easier to count their votes because you have a much smaller population. Also, tghose are the states where they have limited voting hours so the polls close earlier. The northeast is not even confirmed yet with a lot of votes leaning towards kamala. The swing states have broken for Kamala and been called. This actually looks bad for Trump.
