Which is stupid. While I disagree strongly with the way the Biden administration has dealt with Israel and enabled the massacre in Gaza (both before and after the Hamas terrorist attack), letting Trump be re-elected over it is a major case of "cutting off your nose to spite your face". If they think that Trump will be better for Palestinians, they are so delusional as to be beyond help. He will let Israel do whatever Netanyahu wants, and enable him in doing it. Sure, the choice is between "bad" and "worse", but just because something is "bad" is no reason to choose "worse".
As if Harris denouncing Israel and pledging support to the Palestinians would have won her the election...like that was the key to victory.
At least some good has come out of this election: several states have passed laws that prevent abortion bans from being enacted, Colorado overturned its same sex marriage ban, Sarah McBride won her congressional seat in Delaware, and is the first openly transgender woman in congress. It's not a lot, but it is good.
You're the only one who can pee from across the bathroom and make it in without hitting the rim. It's amazing. I know, I'm trying to be optimistic, I really am.
The current AP map has Wisconsin shaded dark red (meaning Trump is leading) with 78% of the vote in, and Trump having more than 100,000 votes in the lead. I believe she has to have Wisconsin, Michigan, and PA, and at this point all of them are being lead by Trump. Pennsylvania has Trump with a 3% lead with 86% of the vote in. She could still win this, but holy fuck it's going to be ass puckering close.
That would have cost her even more votes than it would have gained. There is no doubt that if Trump is re-elected, Hamas will have been one of the factors that made that possible.
No, because the US doesn't do the "states rights" thing very well. Leaving it to the states allows for deep corruption and segmented rights. Being seen as human in one state while being denied basic rights in another state isn't how it's supposed to work. The US government tried that early on, and it fell hard on its ass, and eventually lead to a civil war.
Proposition 1 going down in flames in Idaho. No open primaries and no ranked choice voting. I suspect the problem was ranked-choice voting.
States rights is how we got same sex marriage, the end of slavery, the end of the slave trade, the end Of Jim Crowe, the end of prohibition, the end of abortion restrictions, etc, etc… Glad you came back J. Allen.
To me, the saddest part of it all is that American Christians have made this possible. Do they understand nothing of the teachings of Jesus?
I’d like to say congratulations America, if you really let this disgusting fucker run your country a second time, he’s the president you deserve. But then I look at Russia and Ukraine… and the Middle East. And China. And, most of all, climate change. Makes it pretty much impossible to smugly look at this from the sidelines. What the fuck is wrong with people?
Hi welcome to like 40+ years ago. Async I love and respect you, (we don't agree on a few things but you're a very rational person and you have a sick beard). But your religion has been abducted by, at best, idiots, and at worst, evil doers.
