Welp, the last two single folks in my circle of friends are now not so single, as in , seeing eachother, That leaves me the single guy and 5 other couples. Which leaves me in often awkward situations, both for them and for me. There's only so much "hanging out as a crowd" that we can do. Does anyone have any recommendations as to activities that we can do (other than me going out and getting myself a girlfriend, which believe me I'm working on)

Irreverent Drunk Guy. You can do and say whatever you want and you don't have to worry about not getting any that night.

Unless you already are Irreverent Drunk Guy, which might explain why you're single...

Drunk . . . on occasion, but never more so than the next guy.
irreverent . . . I have three sisters. I know how to treat a lady.

I'm just in a dry spell, but I suppose I can use this as an excuse to branch out and meet new folks.

Bowling. Fun, and it's not a 'couple' situation. Plus, if you're lucky, there'll be somebody cute in the next lane.
Not sure about the US, given your chequered history with the demon drink, but our bowling alleys have bars, too. Got to be some possibilities in the post-bowl beer...

Schmitty, been there/done that! At one time all of my friends were hooked up with each other and I was the odd man out. After awhile they stopped inviting me to hang out with them and just did "couples only" events. Over time they all drifted away from me because I wasn't cool enough to have a girlfriend at the time and they got uncomfortable with me being by myself.

Personally, I'm glad. There's nothing that drags down your fun quotia more than hanging out with a girlfriend who won't let you do what you want to do and enjoy yourself. Then you get dragged to the boring "couples" events and watch the girls all giggle and conspire while you and the rest of the guys compare notes on the best ways to kill yourselves.

You're better off staying single and enjoying yourself. You can always get more friends.

^ Holy shit, that's like one of the wisest things I've ever seen posted!

It happens to me sometimes. I just don't let it bother me any more. There will be times when the shoe is on the other foot, and you are in a relationship and someone else isn't.

If they invite you out, then fine, if not, I'll find other things to do. You could also take the bull by the horns and organize things that are very guy-oriented, like watching the game at your place, or going out to the nudie bars.

After spending enough time with their girlfriends, believe me, a lot of the guys will relish the opportunity to get away for a little bit.
