Okie dokie, the only real suggestion from the membership in my thread was to bring back the white room. I'm working with O2C to do just that by Saturday.

It's ready. Delete the old white room usergroup, and move the threads back, and we're done.

What are we going to do about proving 18+ status?

What about not giving in to TK trolling? Geez, this is the Internet. Most porn here is not hidden half as well as the WR.

Given all the porn at TK, I am sure the last thing they really want is any scrutiny on a board so closely associated with them.

Was the concept of another writing contest going anywhere?

An anniversary logo? I can't do it this time, my hand is messed up.

The idea of renaming the Tech/Sci forum The Tech Labs in Techman's honor...might be a nice time to do it if we're going to.

In the vein of a writing contest, we could do an art contest...not everyone is good at writing...a sort of Wordforge Has Got Talent sort of silliness.

Ugh... Ladies and Gents, I'm going to be out of pocket pretty much all day Saturday on family business. I'm going to let Tamar run the show for any festivities and I'll need either Nick or O2C to talk her through reopening The White Room. We'll also be renaming Wordforge Labs "The Tech Room."

I'd also like to do a creative something like Tamar mentioned. Do writing, graphical design featuring the WF logo, etc. We'll take entries starting on Saturday and end the following Friday where a panel of judges will review the entires in each category. Prizes for 1st place in each category will be $50 Amazon gift certificates out of my own pocket.

Y'all come up with the categories. Try to limit it to four or less.

Reopening the White Room and renaming the labs...those are Tech jobs anyway.

Bingo. 18+, no one gets in without having the DOB in their profile checked by an admin. No DOB, no admission. Also, they must be in a NORMAL usergroup. If they are in the Users Awaiting E-Mail Confirmation usergroup 'cause they scrambled at the last second to change their date of birth but didn't bother with the e-mail, no dice. All nude stuff goes in there. Normal rules, but what happens in there stays in there. Stress that it is a privilege and that if someone does something stupid, their access will be revoked, permanently.

The White Room is a forum for adult material, both professional and amateaur, of all types...pictures, stories, movies...all are welcome and encouraged. All nudity will be moved to this area if it is posted elsewhere on the board.

However, this forum isn't for everyone. Some are not interested and anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed. No user not an adult will be allowed to join. Because of that, the forum is hidden for privacy and legal reasons.

This forum is a privlege and abuse of that privlege will not be tolerated.

Given that it's a legal issue, I think however we find out if someone is a minor it would behoove us to remove their access.

Yeah, but how do we prove it? Short of getting people to fax over their passports while posting in front of a webcam...?

I'm playing devil's advocate here: I've never had a problem with the white room, and I'm fucked off that TK internet lawyers have done us out of a harmless amusement for the last few months.
But I'd like to know if we're bullet-proof where those twats are concerned.

I have barely been on because I can barelt ytpe onr handed and I am on pain meds. Half of it is tech related anyway...opening forums and giving people unlimited rep...
