Unreliable, whatever it's purported to be?

I take that back. Our data in the US are unreliable, Ven's data are most likely garbage.

    LOL

Only figures which support your views are reliable!

It's 34% according to the CIA factbook, way below most European countries - France is 52%, the UK is 40%, Germany is 45%.

So you're wrong about the figure you quote for Europe, how it compares with Venezuela and the effect it has on the respective economies. Quite a feat.

    What exactly does this mean?

The equivalent of 50 million rolls?

It'll be the same amount of toilet paper, only packaged in sheets instead of rolls?

They'll take the estimated mass of 50 million rolls of toilet paper and deliver the equivalent in ... kumquats?

Sincere thanks for demonstrating my point.

While the CIA data might add public sector purchase of private sector labor (e.g. 'outsourcing', or project contracting), all data are unreliable unless you have the footnotes in detail, and the more details generally means the less comprehensible. But in the case of non-democratic regimes that try to control economic data (like say China, or Chavez's utopia), the data are even less reliable. Go ahead, claim the commies and whackjob socialists produce reliable data, I'd love to hear that. It may even be this same reliable data that led to the TP shortage in the first place. ;) But I'd put my money on idiocy of the bureaucrats, it's the easy guess - I mean, despite all the evidence they're still trying leftist statist policies, how bright can they be?

Out of the 14,000 Venezuelan private sector firms existing in 1998, only 9,000 were left by 2011.

Maybe Zimbabwe can send them some of their money - finally there will be a practical use for it!

Unless you're so arrogant as to think that figures disagreeing with you makes them manifestly wrong instead of you, I'm not sure how I've done that. Babble about leftism and statism isn't an argument.

It is true that state involvement in the Venezuelan economy has increased since the turn of the century. However it started at a much lower level than it ever had been in Europe.

The one fact that you do offer about the number of companies in Venezuela traces back to right-wing Venezuelan opposition figure Gerver Torres. It ignores the proliferation of co-operatives during the same period, of which there are now over 200,000.

Venezuela has never been socialist even if the pseudo dictator liked to say it was in order to fool voters. His main goal was to nationalize any business which funded the opposition.

Hell, does Zombie think North Korea or East Germany were really democratic just because their name claimed so? How about thinking a little bit, eh?
