5th Anniversary - July 21st, 2008

We've got five months. We need to start planning now.

Nick had a good idea. One thing can be a new logo contest. Scorp is the only person that has the font of the current logo and for one reason or another, he can't give it up. I want something we have a little more control over.

I've got a friend that's a professional graphic artist. He comes up with new company logos on a routine basis, and for some major companies. I'm going to ask him to give it a whirl and I'll enter that one as well.

What are your ideas?

Since this is the most apathetic staff in the world, maybe a public thread on this would be more useful?

I'm not apathetic. I just don't give a shit!

But, to remind the more forgetful around here, I worked as a professional graphic artist for ten years. I have certain skilz in that area as well. Or am I discounted from a logo contest because I'm on staff?

Staff can enter because WF as a whole votes on the winners.

Of course you're welcome to enter. In fact, one of my oldest friends is a professional graphic artist. I've got him working on a couple of designs that I'll enter. Of course, he's doing it for free too, one of those famous buddy deals.

Last year I made a Wordforge crossword puzzle, folks seemed to like it, I could always make a new one.

If we're talking about sacrifices, I can think of a few names to throw into the ring...

But then, you are a redhead and you have a cat...

Technically, we're supermods. Meh.

And I have scary powers!

We have to somehow include this bit Kyle made some four years ago!

If we consider a writing contest, we should announce it soon and give people lots of time to work on it...and time to advertise it a bit and see if we can get some new members out of it.

That way we can announce a winner on the anniversary itself.

Are we going there again?

One Month left and no real plans....

It'd be great if we could get some of the members who haven't posted in awhile to stop by. Diacanu, Uncle Albert, Summerteeth, Actormike, Storm ...

I'm in contact with Diacanu and have asked him to consider visiting that day.

Diacanu has told me he will in fact be here July 21st!

I have sent Dendroica an e-mail to see if he might come back for a visit as well asked Mrs Albert to ask Uncle Albert to drop in the 21st.

Dendroica is back early it seems.
