Seems that the box you write in won't let you. I may have not gotten all of the updates in so I'll do that today and try it but as it stands I can't reply to posts on that machine. I'm on my XP unit doing this now.
I'm typing this in IE on a PC running 8.1. Try going into your preferences for the boards, and disable the rich text editor. That may fix it, if not, then I suggest using a different browser or adjusting the settings in IE, because it seems to be a problem with your machine and not the board's software.
Well, back on the dinosaur I guess to reply. I'm not going to run a bunch of different browers and load all kinds of shit on that thing. There's no reason I can find for it not to work in the settings. I just know it worked before I went to 8.1. Kind of chaps my ass really, but somewhere out there is a little gremlin that takes great pleasure in sucking the joy right the fuck out of life apparently even moreso than some of my exes.
Did you turn off the "rich text editor"? Are you running any add-ons in IE? I've been running 8.1 for a while now and haven't had any problems with boards like you describe.
Ok, scrapped the 8.1 with a clean recovery. Minimal files were transferred to this thing so it'll only take a couple of hours to get where I was. That sucked. Straight 8 is then.
