Halloween's approaching, and Mrs. Spider wants mini-Spider to be Captain Kirk this year. She thinks he'll really look the part. He's nearly two years old.

Has anyone seen any costumes online? I can't find a damn thing!

So far I've found insignias (out of stock) and TOS phasers for around $30 a pop. I'm not paying that for a toy he'll wear with a costume once, then chew, drop, throw and quickly destroy.

Christ making the kid wear your fantasies is just sick. You can tell her that I said that too.

If your kid watches TV let him be Diego or a Backyardigan or something.

Stop forcing your sick fantasies on him............

He'll just hate you later for it.....

^Zombie, check the colour on the door. Keep it civil in here, please.

Spider, I'd suggest a yellow sweatshirt with ric-rac braid sown on the sleeves. A comic book shop should be able to supply you with insignia. If he has any black trousers that are too short for him, a few snips and stitches, and you should be able to copy the shape.
Not sure what to do about the boots, but rather than give him a 'phaser', I look for any old flip-top mobile, and say it's his communicator...

Zombie, neither wife nor I are great Star Trek fans. He just looks the part.

He's not even two years old--he barely even knows who the likes of Diego are.

Linda--thanks for the suggestions. I shall pass them on.

As a father of two I can tell you that unless you never let him see those cartoons he knows every last one of them. He might not be able to say the names and such but he knows them. Don't sell kids short.
