I was watching the sci-fi channel randomly and i got pulled into one of their corny movies called Serenity. Only this time I was in for a suprise. This movie actually kicked ass. I'm not saying it was spectacular or anything, but for the Sci-fi channel it freakin rocked. It was a little slow at the begining, but the actors were above par and as the plot developed and the action picked up, I was glued to the tv. When I say it picked up, I am grossly understating it. There are large scale starship battle scenes almost as good as the new star wars flicks and fight scenes that remind you of the bad ass hand to hand scenes in resident evil (youll know what im talking about). Plus there is some real good mano y mano action between the main protagonist and antagonist. If you havent seen it, and you like sci-fi flicks, it definately worth your time. Lemme know what yall think about it. :hail:

That was Joss Wheaton's movie. He related to Will Wheaton? I don't care for most of his work.

He's the boob who gave us alien resurrection after all. I heard "Serenity" was an entertaining picture. Allegedly based on Wheaton's show "Firefly".

Yes, that's right. From the same Wheaton who gave us Alien: Resurrection.

I suspected as much. To Joss Wheaton's credit, I hear "Serenity" wasn't half-bad. Alien resurrection, on the other hand, was a lulz tornado.

Yeah, I saw a Sci Fi Original movie on Sci Fi Channel last week too. It was called Forbidden Planet. Very retro. Guy looked kinda like Leslie Neilson. But it sorta seemed like a ripoff of that Star Track show.

The 1956 version of Forbidden Planet with Walter Pigeon and Anne Francis? Was the Serenity film new? It seemed like closure for the Firefly series.

Serenity came out in 2005 and it was the wrap-up to the TV show Firefly. It was not made-for-SciFi and is not exactly new.

If you liked the movie, you really should check out the series.

Book of Beast with James Callis was good.
