After all that, the damn fool can't even hold the bible correctly. He does check the spine to make sure he's not holding it upside down, though. When asked if it's his bible, he says probably the most honest thing of his presidency: "It's a bible." I envision him asking around the West Wing "Anybody got a bible? No? Run over to the nearest hotel and grab a Gideon, willya? In the interests of National Security, of course." And after responding "It's a bible," he goes silent, holding it up like the kindergarten kid who's been appointed to announce the school play but is about to wet his pants. It might as well be a brick. We won't even get into the number of times he's misquoted it to church groups and, when asked some years ago to quote his two favorite passages, he went all Michelle Bachman and said "I don't want to get into it; it's personal." Translation: Never read it, haven't a clue.
This is among the most shameful things Trump has done as PINO, and the list of shameful things he has done is very long. The Constitutional right to peaceably assemble and petition the government for a redress of grievances went right down the toilet, there. And all that so one of the most blatant religious hypocrites ever to sit in the Oval Office (and that also is a long list...) can stand there scowling and holding up a Bible as if it was a weapon.
I agree with you. But it doesn't matter. The US is spiraling into an authoritarian dictatorship (if not already there). And a good chunk of the population will vote in approval of that come November. Please send help.
