the major problem here, as it is with so-called "religious liberty" is that the GOP are not honest actors. IF the GENUINE interest was to say to mothers of an uncomplicated pregnancy (no rape, no incest, no deformity, no life/health of the mother issue) "20 weeks is enough time for you to exercise your liberty to seek an abortion if you want to" and all decisions about exceptions thereafter were objectively decided on a medical and scientific basis...I for one think it's a reasonable compromise. But both sides want all or nothing and the left rightly understands that if you give the right 20 weeks they won't just go have a beer and be content, they won't be content until the practice is illegal entirely because it's what their Pharisee base demands (and we have plenty of proof this week that what they want, they get from the GOP)

I haven't ducked at all. You implied that I think rape babies deserve to be killed. I don't believe that, I believe women should have the a right to an abortion in the case of rape. As for sluts who use abortion as a means for birth control, sorry, you've had plenty of time, got no love for ya.
If you hate the word, then you should understand. Because all it is is a word used to insult and degrade women. There is no objective standard of sluttiness. For example, if I were to guess what you would consider “behaving like a slut,” I would say any sex outside of marriage. Not many would agree with that, but it’s just as valid as any other definition.
I'd say it's more a case of cognitive dissonance. They think they are showing the rape victim compassion, and I suppose they are, but they don't understand that it actually undermines their own argument as far as being "pro-life." And honestly this aspect of it is why I lean toward the "pro-choice" side of the fence.
