I loved working at IBM and TWC because they let me have my laptop at work. TWC even had multiple modems set at different levels for us to test personal and business connection speeds with our private computers.

That did turn out to be a bad decision as I did walk out of there with my bosses social security numbers, residential info, phone numbers, authorization codes like mother's maiden names, and anything else I needed to steal their identities without any internal monitoring. Don't worry, I also had the same access to everyone else's info while I had my personal laptop there.

This was after one guy was caught with his personal laptop updating his webpage where he was quoting idiot things customers said, and another guy was pitching his own tech support website where he was charging TWC customers for tech support extras while they were on the TWC lines.

I could have watched porn at work, but there was so much worse going on. I was pirating movies and software. I was stripping off copywriting. I was cyberstalking and harassing people. I was going after pedophiles in the anime community and working with perverted justice. I played my video games. I did not have to watch movies because we had VOD on the TVs fdor "testing" purposes.

Our work PCs were all locked down without external access because of the sensitive account data and direct access to the account system, but who the fuck cares when I could just transcribe account info right into my private PC, and I had all the backend testing and administration software on it also.

One of the interesting things I will say is most of the tech guys I knew didn't bother with porn at work. That was something we normally dealt with sales and corporate managers doing. It is not that we didn't have the opportunity, but we mostly did other things. It was more like the less technically adept you were, the more you tried for porn at work. Maybe it was just that the tech guys had enough porn at home to be bothered with it at work, or more that when you deal with tech geeks the porn was the technology in front of them.

Nobody would get fired for such an action again at those places of employment (at least for a while) as their replacements would be smart enough to heed the examples and keep a civil tongue in their heads.

What is really awful is this is sort of the point. This is how cults get people to be separated from society. They make them engage in antisocial behavior that causes them to be further cast out and rejected making the cult the only place where the person can survive. It also becomes a self fulfilling prophecy if they get a bunch of idiots to do it. Then they tell them that everyone is persecuting them for being themselves, even though the cult members are being told what to do by the cult.

However, in the end the cult members in this case are racist and xenophobic so it is really just a big giant sign that we cannot ignore because these people do work in racist ways.
