I KNEW it! Therels already a gay porn parody movie out now - Taint Man. Oh and an Asian martial arts movie - Slant Man
I guess it's because I was never a fan of Thor, but I just don't get the fanboy love for this character.
My "got to", character is She-Hulk. She's the queen of Marvel, she's their Wonder Woman, what's the holdup?
I don't have any male characters on my want list cuz they've all been done. My top 2 were Hulk and Iron Man, and they were the first. Next tier down is Punisher and Dr. Strange, and they're coming up.
They've not managed to get a regular Hulk film to do overly well, and they've already got one lawyer on screen. Probably a bit wary about it, sadly.
Regular Hulk and Daredevil are all "woe is me", and angst, She-Hulk brings a breath of fun and humor into whatever team you put her in.
Finally got out to see Ant-Man today. Marvel hits it out of the park again. Good flick, appropriate humor, nice fanboy wank references, loved it.
caught it Tuesday while the offspring were watching the DBZ movie...really liked it. I fall a bit short of "excellent" because, well, it's Ant-man - but it was as good as an Ant-man movie could possibly be. I liked the humor and LOVE Kirk Michael Douglas' performance (here I thought dude was half dead) and was wowed by the CGI youth in the opening scene. OTOH, Packard's list is valid and - am I the only one that saw the big-bad as pretty much a straight rip of the bad guy in Iron Man? They should probably sue themselves or something. Modifying Ecky's model A+ GotG, both Avengers A Iron Man, CA:TWS A- Iron Man 2, Ant Man B+ Iron Man 3, Thor 2 B Captain America, Thor C Hulk
You are not alone in thinking that the vilian from Ant-Man is pretty much the same as the first Iron-Man vilian. I don't mind it though. Had the movie sucked, maybe I'd feel different, but I actually expected it. It's an origin story and Matvel seems to have a certain blueprint when it comes to origin stories. This one in particular really had some similarities to Iron-Man. I can't wait to see RDJ and Pail Rudd on screen together trading barbs. It seems toe, RDJ has a little competition now and I think the timing is perfect.
I actually hope to see some Pym-Stark fireworks myself. I figure at some point Hank would have to grudgingly acknowledge Tony's move away from the weapons business but before that...
I've liked all the Marvel movies I've seen, but I don't think I could really align them along a single scale. And that's good, because it means Marvel is doing things differently enough each movie that I feel like it would be comparing apples and oranges. That's how they can withstand superhero fatigue: not just copying the same formula over and over again. I still feel like Captain America 2 was the best-made movie so far, but Avengers 1 was the most enjoyable for me, the one I'd be most likely to go out of my way to watch again. Haven't seen Ant Man, Iron Man 2 or 3, Hulk (either of them), didn't pay full attention during Thor 2 but it seemed pretty good.
Saw it again to antidote Fantastic four. http://dickynoo.blogspot.com/2015/08/big-summer-movies-part-3-part-75.html
