This series (loosely based on a couple of Gene Roddenberry characters) had a couple of good moments. Mainly in the first two seasons. I don't know what the hell happened in seasons three, four, and five. Especially the simply awful fifth season. I actually went to the Wikipedia and read a summary of Season Five and I still don't know what the hell happened. perhaps someone out there can clue me in?
I think I stopped watching after the second or third season. Or whenever it was when Tyr left and Kevin Sorbo's Nietzchean first officer's clone replaced him. It was a really cool concept. A Commonwealth of aliens stumbled upon humans, asked them to join up, fast forward to a few thousand years later and humans are just a minor part in the 3-galaxy Commonwealth. Genetically engineered humans that worship Nietzche. The Magog swarm. Captain of one of the starships gets frozen in time for a few hundred years. He's revived to find the Commonwealth completely gone, and humans are once again the minority race in the 3 galaxies. But like I said, I stopped watching after around the second or third season. Part of it was due to the fact that I didn't like where the show was heading. Another part was that my cable company stopped carrying WGN, which showed it regularly, so I had to watch it on FOX, which showed it very infrequently.
Yes, it made it five. Though in my opinion, the fifth season was right up there with the second season of Space:1999.
It actually lasted about six more episodes before mutating into Hercules in Space. Right about the time Trance turned gold instead of purple.
Trance and Rommie are hotties. The show had always reminded me of Hercules in Space, though. Which is exactly what I always called it.
