If so, what are the main advantages (if any) over the average Laptop ?

No, I ain't playing this game. These two threads were almost exactly the same, and only a week apart.

Want people to post? Give 'em a little more meat. Y'know, things like why you'd like to know. And instead of creating whole new threads after one fails, just bump the old one.

Seriously. You've already got people wondering just how many times you're going to make repeat threads. Doing a repeat a week apart ain't helping your case.

Post links to what you're considering. I'll put my imagination hat on and let you know.

Offhand, I'd guess unless you have a specific application that is ideally run on a tablet (checking off orders in a warehouse?) that a tablet would be annoying. You'd be attaching an external keyboard and such to use it like a PC all the time. That and they're slow aren't they?

    Get a notebook.

Gateway C series seems to be a hybrid. And it's pretty cheap.

I think it's reasonable to be pissy over someone starting a new thread when he could have just bumped the old thread that wasn't a week old.

And like you said, links, some more in-depth questions, hell, why he even wants to know would be great content for the post that might get more people talking about it.

I work with tablet PC's. I sell software that runs on them. we use two types. A straight tablet PC that tends to be smaller and somewhat lighter. We also use a combo tablet/laptop. In this device the screen swivels and folds with the screen out and acts as a tablet. Swivel it back and you have a standard laptop. That is the best by far IMO. Our software requires the writing aspect of the tablet, so we use them. I always opt for the combo. If you like the straight tablet just have a keyboard to plug in any you're good.
