http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/macworld2007/the-iphone-price--499-4gb-599-8gb-in-june-227429.php OK, I know what my next one will be
Holy crap, that looks like straight out of some good sci fi movie All it needs is more memory. Lots and lots of memory. 8 GB is nothing for all the stuff this thing can do.
That's one hell of a phone, though like all touchscreens, I've got to wonder about smudging and fingerprints.
Looks cool but it is way overpriced. "The iPhone will come in two versions, a 4GB $499 model, and an 8GB $599 model with a two-year contract." Unless that is incorrect reporting thats the price with the two year contract.
That looks a really good price to me, if you're paying it over the 2 year contract... $599 over two years? $24.95 a month, around £13 a month. Very good, in my eyes...
Can they use this name? I thought someone else already made an iPhone product? Looks neat but touch controls give me the redass. Can't operate the fucking thing with gloves, thats my biggest gripe about the current iPod as well. Also, too bad its cingular.
Cisco. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2074706,00.asp I imagine this will be the "iFone" now, or they'll just start coming up with real names.
Cisco and Apple have an 'agreement'. Those WLAN 'iPhones' Cisco presented last month or so were obviously a ploy to drive up the price of their registered trademark. I think Apple just paid up. There's a bit about that on Gizmondo. My only problem with the device is that everybody will have it in two years. Once again Europe gets the shaft when it comes to start dates - funny considering how the US is basically cell phone stone age compared to European GSM networks. Them only giving it away bundled with a US contract sucks big time - can't even order one when it comes out over there . Can that be the plan for the iPod too? Only sell it with a subscription to iTunes? That'll be the moment when they overplay their hand.
I think during the Keynote it was said it would be likely $299-$399 with a 2-year contract, and $200 more without.
http://www.wordforge.net/showthread.php?t=41461 Hmmm... I hapen to be a Cingular customer and I'm in the market for a smartphone.... I can't wait until June though.
We've got a lot more area to cover. Same reason we have crappier public transit... lots of land and low population density.
I was a bit amazed...when MM and I visited her folks in Gordon, Nebraska...very remote...I had good coverage.
I love how Apple call the interface 'Multi Phasing Doohicky' which, is their posh terminology for you finger Anyway, that isn't a gadget. This is a gadget!!
Man, is that for real!? Unless your last name is "Lucas" if you have that rig in your living room, forget about ever getting laid. As for the topic at hand, I gotta hand it to Jobs. He can come out, with a straight face, and ask an obscene amount of money for something that is comparable to stuff already on the market. And he does it time after time.
I would never buy a gaming console. Because, like, all it does is gaming and the rest is just tacked on. But this baby will - with more memory - save me three devices: an iPod, a PDA and the cell phone. And it looks
Me neither, really. Most of the folks who can afford this overpriced gizmo already have at least two or three versions of iPods and a bajillion models of cell phones anyway. The Apple TV they reveled seems more worthwhile.
It will be lots of fun to watch videos with fingerprints smudged all over that screen. I bet that touch screen is going to get a lot of bad press in the coming months...
so, apple want me to buy a phone less advanced than one i can get for free on contract? i can see nokia rolling out a rival before 2008 and beating it hands down.
Won't. Sell. Atleast not here in the US. Every carrier that bring these souped up PDAs forget American revolve around the flip phone. There's yet to be a hit high end phone here in the last 4 years that wasn't a flip. Business customers will stick with the Blackberry and Treo and consumers will poo poo this because of price and the lack of a flip.
Admittedly, I'm not the person they make phones for. I don't think very many people share my opinion of the "ideal" cell phone. And even if they did, It's not a very profitable phone. My ideal cell phone (in this order): Has an address book Makes a noise/vibrates when someone is trying to contact me Lets me (reliably) talk to people who aren't where I am Is as small as humanly possible (I'm talking the size of a Chapstick tube here) Has an earpiece Has voice dialing (refer to the "small as possible" to better understand this one) I don't want a camera on it. I don't want an MP3 player on it. I don't need a color screen, games, PDA or e-mail functionality. Hell, I don't even need a polyphonic ringtone. Just make the fucker tiny and reliable and I'm .
