Aurora I have a screen protector that is finger print proof and also doesn't have any bubbles after you put it on.

Both are a generation from being good. I am in on the Surface Pro when they get the battery life up to 10 hours and add a retina display. I could probably deal with 1920x1080 I suppose, but the battery life is a deal breaker.

MS has just cut the price on both versions of the Surface, its possible that they are trying to clear out back inventory before introducing newer versions in coming months. I've heard mixed things about the Surface Pro, but it sounds like some of the issues could be easily fixed with a few minor tweaks. Of course, MS might not introduce a next generation model. Sales are said to be very poor, its estimated that they've only sold about 1/3 of the units so far produced.

There are a number of elements about the concept behind the Surface Pro that will probably be picked up by other companies, however, so it might not be a total loss.

The sales are bad because its an inferior product. When they fix the issues I think the sales will follow. But if they do scrap it there will be other windows tablets coming along that I'll be willing to try, though I will never go for an RT model.

    Remember the Zune?

The first one was crap, and by the time they got the next ones out, nobody cared.

Even the "Zune Guy" gave up on it.

My netbook died a few months ago, so I spent the remainder of that time with the iPad. I got used to it, and there were things I liked to be sure.

Now I'm strictly using my new Kindle Fire 8.9, and I love it. The thing I like the most is the scrolling main interface. I can immediately scroll through everything, apps, books, web pages, social media, etc. All from the home page. It didn't have two cameras like the iPad, but I can live with that, especially for $100 less.

One thing I actually really like is the unobtrusive ads that come up when you turn it on. They swipe away easily, occasionally it's an ad for a new movie, but it's usually some ad for an inexpensive book deal or something. I've actually bought a couple books cheap because of it.

I've spent the last 15 minutes going through Emails and my amazon orders but my amazon orders only go back to January. :garamet: and I may have
Deleted the email confirmation. I ordered off of amazon. And it was a "finger print" or "smudge proof" screen protector that works awesomely. :D

I am loving both my Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. However I think Flow touched on the the best. I think the sweet spot, at least for personal use is the 8.9 form factor.

The Surface Pro is a long way from where it needs to be. From a hardware standpoint, it's a laptop without a keyboard but with a fixed touch screen. What do you do with a device of that form factor that requires such powerful hardware? From a mobile user standpoint, it's a laptop without a keyboard but with fixed touch screen. If I'm going to carry that size and weight, I may as well carry a more powerful and cheaper laptop.

Yes, it has amazing "real" hardware, but it has a pitiful battery, it's heavy, and it's expensive. Doesn't it also have a proprietary digitzer (stylus) and I know it has a proprietary power port that requires you to use an expensive Microsoft branded external battery.
