    1. Autism is NOT a form of brain damage.

    2. Brain damage is NOT the same thing as a developmental/intellectual disability, aka retardation.

    3. "Tard" is a slur, not a medical diagnosis. There is no way that calling somebody a "tard" can ever be factually true.

    4. You really are a hateful little slug, aren't you?

@Dinner has undiagnosed Sokar cancer. It's the only reasonable explanation for his sudden shift into anti-Islam, anti-trans, anti-kids, pro-gturner douchebaggery.

Because his mother used his name to promote her viral video. Law enforcement and the courts cannot publish the name, but mom can advertise your problems and under age legal problems for her fame.

As shootER already mentioned upthread. Might be nice if you read the replies in your own thread. That’s not the only respect in which you’re imitating Dinner here. What’s the problem? Don’t believe in autism or, like Dinner, are you ignorant about it?

Why is it in a teacher's job description physical abuse is part of the job? Also schools permit a lot of disruptive behavior today. You are allowed to talk and use cell phones during class. You really have to go overboard to get punishment in floriduh. You can see this kid is a little asshole in the video.

This is more a problem with the mother. That mother is horrible. There is a point to sticking up for your child, but he is autistic and needs to develop proper coping habits and not report to hitting. That is not acceptable, and I do not care what mental problems you have. If you cannot control your violence you need to be locked up. No one says a violent schizophrenic should be allowed to assault people, but when they are white and have affluenza/autism some people, including the mom, think we all have to put up with getting hit.

You know if he is doing it to the teacher he is hitting other kids because they touch him or do things he does not like. We used to call that a bully, but now it is autism and the victim of the abuse is wrong for not appreciating the beating they get from the autistic kid. And let us be honest, autism is just the excuse being used by shit parents. I am sure there are other autistic kids who go through the day without kicking and scratching their teacher. They don't have shitty mom enabling their bad behavior instead of helping them learn how to work in society.

No, I bought lives in autism, but I don't see it as an excuse for assault. Why don't we let other people with mental disorders assault people? Why should autistic people get a pass? Actually, why is it only white autistic kids who get a pass, because statistics are that the brown ones don't.

Translating that from autocorrect to English, I'm assuming you meant "believe in." That said, the rest of your post suggests otherwise.

This is why I'll never be a teacher in the US. If a full-grown kid assaults me, I have the right to defend myself. Maybe the circumstances did not warrant the teacher knocking the kid out, but I feel it sends a horrible message to violent students that teachers aren't allowed to defend themselves.

So in order to believe in autism you have to allow them to assault others?

I think I have identified your problem. You are unable to see reality and some how mix up the fantasy dialogue in your head with reality. A mental health professional can assist you with this.

With a lot of effort, and I mean a lot, you may even begin to live in what the rest of us call "the real world" once again.

To Tererun's point, I don't disagree that teachers shouldn't have to put up with abuse.

But I fail to see why a ten year old, autistic, troubled or otherwise, needs to be arrested and jailed at all.

    No.

The point is autism manifests in many different forms and it's not for you to judge. Could the kid be a little shit and autistic? Absolutely. My brother rode his learning disability all the way to the bank and played my mom like a fiddle to avoid doing school work.

Again, that doesn't take away the fact that arrested ten year olds is pretty WTF worthy.

Where it's morally praiseworthy to call children with autism "tard"?

I am not saying it is the first thing you do. This is a child and we are trying to teach him to get along in society. Also any criminal conviction should go under a juvenile record that is sealed and cleared once he reaches adult age because kids make mistakes. However, there is a point where the kid has been given a chance over and over again and is still acting out and may need to be taken further out of society until he can control himself. This is why we should have decent mental health facilities because jail may not be appropriate for a person who might gain control of their illness. If a person with another type of mental problem is on trial they have an opportunity to claim mental defect and get treatment instead of jail time.

I'm not saying the teacher needs to just stand there and be hit, or that steps don't need to be taken for the safety of the teachers and the other kids, but to call this kid a "violent little shit" ignores the reality of his condition.

It's important to note that not all autism spectrum disorders are the same, and that kids on the spectrum don't all share the same characteristics, so what I'm going to describe isn't accurate for everyone. But it is accurate for a lot of spectrum kids.

Imagine that everything around you is uncontrollably bright, loud and overwhelming. Every room you walk into is either blindingly bright or filled with wildly pulsating strobes. Every noise is amplified as if you're standing next to a loudspeaker and every person around you is shouting into a bullhorn; it's like you're at a rock concert or a football game every minute of the day. Every touch hurts, and you're constantly surrounded by crowds pressing in on you. Life is a constant 24/7 assault of sensory overstimulation and you can't turn it off, and on top of that, everyone around you acts like it's perfectly normal.

People with autism spectrum disorders are prone to excessive sensory sensitivity, and kids -- yes, even kids as old as 10 -- haven't always learned how to deal with it yet. Some may deal with it by retreating. Some may deal with it by lashing out at the source of what feels like an attack.

When a kid lashes out, facing developmentally appropriate consequences is part of the process of learning how to deal with it more constructively; it should not and cannot be ignored. However, being placed under arrest is not a developmentally appropriate consequence for an autistic 10-year-old. It'd be like throwing your first-grader in jail for pulling her little sister's hair.
