    Seem to remember Clint Eastwood went there (or told his ma he did) in one of the every which movies.

    Bakersfield is a farming town, I knew it from the moment I saw it. "These are my people", I said, from atop the Tehachapi Pass. It's got that special cocktail of multiculturalism and work ethic that makes it different from other California cities, Western Swing, anyone?

    Guess it's too diverse for some people.
