Fiiiiinally. King Of The Hill took...how many decades to run its course? Then, he had that one about the effeminate vegan with Mr. Van Driesen's voice that bombed after 5 episodes. Now, he's finally dancing with the one that brung him to the party again.
The better update would be expanding the material they're criticizing. Include Movies, TV shows, Internet clips ... There's no need to limit the criticism to music videos.
I was wondering if B&B are now watching their music vids on VH1 or somewhere else. Wasn't it always sort of implied they were compulsive MTV video watchers. hmmmm.....
I hope it's more Beavis and Butthead do America rather than the actual old show on MTV. That movie rocked.
Yeeeeees. I like King Of The Hill, and would watch new episodes if they continued it, but I was a kid of the nineties. I used to watch Beavis and Butt-head with my dad. This is gonna be awesome.
I remember, musta been about 1995, going over to some friends' house with this girl I was dating and they all wanted to watch 'Beavis and Butthead.' Never having seen the show (but having heard a lot about it), I reluctantly agreed to watch it. The very first bit I saw was a video that had these 'whirling dervish'-like dancers in it, and Butthead's comment--"It's Mr. Bungholio and his twirling fartknockers"--instantly won me over. About two years later, I paged a friend whom I worked with (and with whom I shared a fondness for 'B&B') on the P.A. on his last day with the company, doing a pretty good Butthead impression ("Uh...huh huh...this is cool...uh...Chris would you, like, call extension 214 or something...huh huh...I said 'extension'...huh huh"). When I hung up the phone, I could hear people all over the company cracking up...
I doubt it. By the time B&B showed up, MTV was already full of stuff like Remote Control, Totally Pauly, and Catwalk.
At least B&B showed music videos. Sometimes it was the only way to see videos on MTV towards the end of its run.
Cool! Perhaps this will lead to the return of another great MTV dynamic duo: Lah-lah-lah-lah-lah-lah!
^ Shit, I'll be glad when TIIC release THAT one on DVD. I've heard that it's a lot of backstage politics over music rights that put a stop on that, but I'd rather have generic music in the background than no DVDs. Anyway, B&B wasn't my thing (by the time I was old enough to see it, FG and South Park amoung other "shocking" shows made this one seem a bit "Meh" to me), but anything that squaches the sewage that passes for MTB's current lineup is a welcomed site for my eyes, IMO!
I thought you should know that "Daria: The Complete Series" was released as an 8-disc DVD set a few months ago. Even though it doesn't have the original music, the pure sarcastic goodness is preserved for future generations! A review of it is here: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/42228/daria-the-complete-animated-series/
Unless they give Beavis back his fire, I'm not interested. I used to pull my shirt up on my head and do his, "I am Cornholio and I need t.p. for my bunghole".
