Looks like they are putting the blame on Sony. Do you think this is going to kill the ps4? The XboxOne has had mod support since June.

Lack of mod support for one (very popular) game is not going to "kill" the PS4.

It's a pretty big thing, though. If Bethesda is to be believed this means that Sony is going to be denying all similar attempts at third party modding, for which their competition seems to be embracing. It's going to have an impact on Sony's sales, hopefully they will relent when they see the way things trend.

This is all assuming console users care that much about mods. They've gone without them for years. It's cool that they're available on the Xbox One, but not having mod support for one game isn't going to destroy an entire platform.

To be clear, I also wish the PS4 had mod support, because mods are cool. But if people really cared about them, they probably would have bought a reasonable PC instead of a PS4.

I think mods are becoming more important, there are more and more games that don't make much sense without them, and Sony doesn't need to underscore its limitations when it's just trying to convince people to buy the Pro. As with each new cycle, PC vs console is indeed the relevant question, and they've just given gamers one more strong reason to go PC.

I care about console mods, and I'm not going to be purchasing any more PS4 games because of this. This isn't just going to be one game either, it's going to be EVERY game released on console. As for it destroying a platform, why should I buy the upcoming remaster of Skyrim, for example, for the PS4 when the Xbone version offers so much more content? You also have to realize that a decent gaming rig is going to be far more expensive than a console, even something not top of the line.

skyrim remastered use DX11 or 12 for pc? I got a 4.0 gz processor 8 core amd. 8 gig ram. nvidia 970 for videoc ard. Xbox one uses win 10 so its pretty easy to do modded content when you got similar os's.
