BizarroWF Day

Idea:

April 1st, 2008 will be BizarroWF Day.

Step one: We flip the banner for 24 hours indicating the change.

Step two: We make Faceman, The Flashlight, and baba pseudo-admins for 24 hours. They will have pips and real authority, but no access to the adminCP or The Shelter. They can ban no one.

Step three: We suspend every rule for 24 hours save keeping it legal and keeping porn in The White Room (don't want to get everyone fired).

Step four: We let those three set the rules and tone of the board for the day.

Step five: We watch, point, and laugh.

Step six: Everything goes back to the way it was.

The Flashlight and Faceman have already signed onto the deal. I haven't said anything to baba yet because he won't be able to keep his mouth shut, but I know he'll be on it like stink on shit.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Tell me I'm fuckin' nuts?

Truly bizarro, of course, means to have really strict and fascist rules in the RR. Let baba enforce them

Sounds like it might be kinda fun.

This sounds like one of those parties where you have fun but then wake up in the morning with a hangover and the place is trashed.
How is them setting the rules going to go?
Also with Baba it would be funnier to not even tell him what is happening. Just pm him that he has to come to the board on April 1st.

Forgot to say, I would recommend excluding the Blue Room from the changes.

Sounds like fun... especially if we make sure that all the notify mod e-mails go to Face...cause then we can see how he likes it.

Can just set up an April Fool's usergroup or two.

Would Faceman, The Flashlight, and baba be able to move, merge and close threads? How about warning people? Cuz that's not so easily undone.

That said I wonder what is the worst that could happen? In the great scheme of things, nothing of consequence. Nothing of consequence in the minor scheme of things as well.

So all that's left is weighing the entertainment value against the hassle.

No doubt the three members mentioned will have a bit of fun, though I doubt they will want to entertain for 24 hours. And the rest of us members may be confused at first but we'll soon catch on. How then do we get to participate in the fun? Spontaneously posting the opposite of how we normally do?

I like the idea of an April Fool's Day prank but as pranks go making Faceman, The Flashlight, and baba pseudo admins just ain't much of anything worthwhile.

As long as he was in on the joke, that would be bloody hilarious.

Don't be a party-pooper! Imagine how far this "prank" will go towards defusing the "Eliteforge" rubbish. Hell, it's worth it just to get the reactions from the anti-Baba crowd when they see him with Admin pips!

Warnings can be easily undone. But I would actually be pretty surprised if very many of them are actually given out.

Can the settings be altered for the day so no amount of warnings trip a ban? Because bans are the only real damage that can be done, IMO. That and possible deletions but I don't think mods can delete anyway.

I think everyone should have unlimited rep for the day as well, since we'll never do that permanently it goes with the opposite theme. I suspect people will jump in acting opposite if we lead by example.

It could actually be a great deal of fun really!
