We've been through it already. Statistics don't show any systemic brutality. None. And feel free to dispute hundreds of blacks shooting other blacks in Chicago, children included. But you don't care about unborn black children, why would you care about these kids?

On Facebook the other day, I saw some imbecile trying to claim police brutality doesn't exist by posting statistics that consistently show more whites getting killed by the police for the last several years. The breakdown was roughly 40% white, 30% black, 30% latinx every single year.

Which sounds great, until you realize that latinx people are only 17% of the US population, and blacks are only 14%.

So ... my job is a data analyst. and I could say ... 13% of my data records are used in transactions. That data also shows 50% of transactions (purchase orders and payments) that have errors are caused by those 13% of data records. This would suggest that those 13 % of data records have errors.

Unfortunately, statistics do not give a full picture of what is actually happening. It does not take into account, for example, who is initiating those transactions and if that person is competent. It doesn't take into account the time of the transaction - end of month/quarter/year. It doesn't take into account if the vendor has changed something that adversely affected the data record.

This is the problem with people putting up statistics. That, and the fact that 80% of statistics are made up on the spot. However, this does not appear to be the case as a simple google search shows that, indeed 52% of homicides are caused by black men. Conversely, it does not take into affect other data that contributes to these statistics.

So unless TLS can provide further information regarding these statistics, it means absolutely nothing.

98% of TLS's posts are shitbuckets of information. but ... even a stopped clock is right twice a day - if one is only considering that statistic and not accounting for *why* that information is what it is.

Can't dispute any of the rest of your post, because my only formal exposure to statistics was a high school class before most of you were born. I'll just say that TLS is not known for honesty, integrity, or any understanding that doesn't fit his confirmation bias, so I'll leave it at that.

I think you're missing a fourth option: that there is no systemic racism but individual prejudice is prevalent enough that it has a similar effect. It's far less likely than #1, but it is difficult to distinguish, superficially. But only superficially. The evidence is certainly out there for those willing to look at it.

All right, I'm going to put aside the fact that Marxism doesn't actually mean what most people think it does, and just accept the standard modern usage.

And ... I still don't care. Eighty years ago, we fought alongside not just Stalinists, but the actual freaking Stalin to defeat the Nazis. And he was a monster who sent millions of people to gulags and killed a whole bunch more. If somebody is fighting to end the systematic murder of Black people by armed agents of the state, I don't mind working alongside them on that. The fact that I disagree with them on economics is irrelevant.

I'll roll with #2 that some, not all, black people are less capable. It's clearly not a racist belief because clearly many black people do make it off of the Democrat Plantation. They survived the shitty schools Democrats have imprisoned them in and made it despite not having a father in the home. The ones that don't make it have these things to blame. Not white people.
