It's a hotel frequented by foreigners. The shit's hitting the fan already. Get ready for Afghanistan and Pakistan to be the hot spots for the next four years.

Yep....like I say, and kids that joined the military since about 2001 or so are going to have one long, hard 20 year stretch to serve.

No shit about that. The Middle East is such a mess now.

And just wait until we get knee-deep in Africa in a few years!

Knee deep with what? We don't have enough troops to go around. Knee deep with our dollars? We've got to spend half a trillion to bail out Wall Street. How are we going to continue to police the world if our economy collapses? sigh This isn't encouraging.

We always have the capability to spread our military thinner and thinner.
We call it "too much on the plate". But even if the leadership "suggests" we're biting off more than we can chew, it doesn't help.

The leadership gets slammed for not being a "team player" so you just have to deal with it. All you can do is "stay in your lane" and hope for the best!

As opposed to, say, 1983. Or 1972. Or 1968. Or 1948. Or Roman times. Everything was fucking hunky-dory in the middle east then.

That said, this is just fine. Al Qaeda and the Taliban continue to be unable to avoid shitting where they eat. Now Pakistan will get fed up with them and turn the US loose on the Afghan/Paki border.

In before the usual suspects remark how convienent this bombing is for the U.S. war on terra.

He's not going to send troops to every African hot spot. It won't happen. Not the US going it alone and footing the bill alone like we're still doing in Iraq and Afghanistan, and look what's happened. The problems only moved sideways and we're still 9 trillion in debt. We're mired in.

Actually, that might work out okay for us. The Pakis have nothing that can reach us, and have only a small number of nukes - mostly aimed at India - while we have the forces and reach to glass the whole place in an afternoon.
