Bourne Ultimatum

The last time we saw Jason Bourne, he was… well, he was on the cover of Empire, actually. But now everyone’s favourite amnesiac assassin is well and truly on his way back to the big screen, with today’s release of the first trailer for The Bourne Ultimatum.

Truth be told, there’s not a lot of plot in this first look at the Matt Damon-starring, Paul Greengrass-directed flick, but that’ll surely come next time around. But what we can see has made us very excited indeed.

So, after a brief recap of the first two films, we get quick glimpses of Damon’s Jason Bourne kicking the tar out of a whole assortment of nasty types, zipping around on a scooter in the movie’s big Tangiers-set chase scene, and leaping off a roof into an open window opposite. Very nice – and clearly his knee, which he ruptured at the end of The Bourne Supremacy, is healing nicely.

But we also get to hear Joan Allen, returning as CIA bigwig Pamela Landy, warning her troops about Bourne’s general badassness, while hints that fellow CIA stooge Nicky (played by Julia Stiles) gets a bigger role this time is reinforced by shots of her accompanying Bourne on his globe-trotting quest to assert his supremacy, reclaim his identity, and deliver an ultimatum. In fact, there’s a brief glimpse of Stiles with newly-dyed black hair, which indicates that she tags along for quite a while. Why? How? When? We’ll find out soon enough.

This has to be the one film I'm looking forward to the most.

Can't wait, but I wished they had called these flicks something else since they had nothing whatsoever to do with the books and I would of loved to see an updated movie on Jason Bourne.

I agree with Herbalist, to a certain extent. Love the books, they're brilliant. Love the movies, they're bloody fantastic. HOWEVER they have fairly little in common - doesn't bother me though.
I'm not entirely sure how well it would've worked out trying to tell the original story (Carlos just doesn't have the same ring to it anymore ). I'm happy with how things are now.

And then - I agree with Paladin even more. Especially the second part. Julia Stiles.

Also - I can fucking guarantee you that I'm gonna download this one. Don't want me to? Stop fucking waiting more than a month before releasing movies somewhere near me. (I'll still watch it once or twice on the big screen and then buy the DVD but FUCK ME why won't you learn? )
