    Premature ejaculation

Someone not only forgot to post a link, he's forgotten how the legislative process works...

    Re: Premature ejaculation

In all fairness, it seems to be pretty far down the rabbit hole.

As far as this foreigner can understand, this seems to mean:

-- a, nothing anyway, because the Senate will overturn the decision.

-- b, it can only mean anything because the US budget continues to be up in the air and somewhere well beyond the usual legislative process that determines the budget.

-- and c, what it would mean as long as it is not overturned is that the House hasn't rescinded Obamacare, but only the funding for Obamacare: So the House's official summarized position is that they want Obamacare, but don't want to pay for it.

Did I get any of that right? If so, why is it that (they think that) they can they get a majority to defund Obamacare, but not a majority to rescind it?

Totally symbolic as there's no way for it to pass the Senate.

Still, it's an issue the Republicans will run on in 2014 and in 2016.

Remember that (1) not a single Republican voted for this travesty and (2) it's very, very unpopular with the public.

It's not that the Senate will "overturn" it, they just won't pass it. Both houses have to pass legislation before it can go to the President for signature (or veto, if that's what happens).

    The heck?

It's already like this. I am already forced to pay $1200 a year for Medicare I don't want or need that only pays like 80% and only for Kidney disease related treatment. It's mandated for anyone with ESRF.

I can't wait to pay even more what has been a giant headache and nothing but something that saves insurance companies money and gives them an excuse to deny every single bill. Thanks for the "help" FedGov!

The belief that the 95 shutdown hurt Republicans is laughable.

Republicans were expecting to lose seats in the 96 House elections because in the tidal wave of 1994 some of those seats were in heavy Democrat districts. So no one was shocked that the Republicans lost eight seats and everyone was still expecting the Republicans to hold onto the House.

And in the Senate? Republicans not only held what they won in 94 but they gained two more seats.

Yeah Clinton won in 96 but he was running against Bob Dole and the whole Monica thing didn't happen until late 97 early 98. (and it did affect Gore in 2000 to the point he didn't want to be seen with Clinton during the campaign)

It's only Democrats and the media who keep saying, "the 95 shutdown was really bad for Republicans!"

And it's only dumb RINO's like McCain who are so stupid that they believe the Democrats.

Remember when Democrats say Republicans shouldn't do something because it would be bad for the Republican party then that's precisely why Republicans should do it! The Democrats are liars.

So let's shut this shit down again......

It led to the blowjob heard 'round the world, which led to the Repugs looking like the puritan hypocrites they are, and got that snowball rolling down the hill.
    That's certainly been popcorn-worthy.

I think we are up to Obamacare repeal vote #42 now. Those House Republicans better get moving if they want to get to 100 repeal votes by the 2014 midterms. It's a shame about the votes though, I remember when Republicans used to like capitalism.

Obamacare is wonderful! It's so wonderful that the people who created it and made it a law refuse to be subject to it themselves! :obamaton:

This story might as well be headlined "House sits around masturbating." Just like their last 30-odd temper tantrums over Obama actually attempting a solution to a broken system that they were perfectly happy to let stand.

A shit solution that makes the problem worse isn't a viable solution. And the thing is, the people who crafted Obamacare know it's worse. That's why they won't use it, and they won't make their friends use it. They know it's crap.

And why haven't they legislated something better? I have all kinds of issues with ACA, but it is preferable to nothing. Congress should do its job and craft a better solution, but they really are only interested in grandstanding and politics.
