It's the NY Post doing it's usual thing. Police have no one in custody, certainly not a "Saudi national". NY Post is also the only source reporting more than two deaths. Stop paying attention to the NY Post, they've blown their credibility.
I had heard the Boston Globe was also reporting it, but a check of their website shows that they're just repeating the Post story.
Guys, just a teensy suggestion here: If anyone's got reliable sources, it's shootER. From the rest of you, a little less speculation, a little more "let's wait until we have more information"?
The Globe is reporting that a man in a white van was stopped in Boston Common and he's in cuffs right now. Unknown whether it's because he's a suspect or because he was being uncooperative in evacuating the area (I've see several reports of people refusing to leave).
I just came back from grocery shopping where a stock clerk started talking about it from their cell phone. I'm back and watching on CNN right now. I can see the Patriot Day/Tax Day angle, but I'm watching the video of the bombing right now and apparently, the bombing took place in a medical tent. There are also a lot of flags of different countries where the bombing took place. Could it be U.N. related? i.e. someone disagreeing with something the UN did and chose that place due to its international flavor?
Thanks, but my only source on the ground there (a shooter for the Globe, actually, who had just left the area when the bombs went off) has been too busy gathering stills and video to tweet anything yet. I'm just going off of the Globe's live blog.
ConfederateSon disagrees: Reading fail. What part of "we can't reach a conclusion yet" are you unable to understand? CS. You know this. You can't spend multiple posts speculating openly and rampantly about the attack, putting forth your own pet theories.....and then add "we cant reach a conclusion yet" to immunize the statements already made. Words that you put out there matter regardless of how you contextualize them before or after.
Wrong. I simply reported here what was said else where. Namely that the date and the location hinted at something but there is no evidence to confirm. That is not what you claimed and that's why you're wrong.
You realize I assume that when he called you a "retard" and you responded with "Pot, meet kettle" that you are openly acknowledging that you are in fact a "retard"? Your response is simply a claim that he is as well.
This reminds me of that first season episode of Rizzoli & Isles where there were two murders during the Boston Marathon (though they did give it a different name). but on a serious note, this just goes to show that in the United States, there really is no place immune to attempted mass murder. You don't need to go to schools, ball games, movie theatres. As Charles Krauthammer said "in the U.S. there are an endless number of soft targets" that a murderer or a terrorist can pick.
Good point. Because every conspiracy nut always comes out and says "But the first report said....". Like Roswell when one of the very first reports was that a UFO had crashed there.
Press conference with Mayor and Governor right now. Confirmed that police have no one in custody, but are questioning some people.
So now you are saying that you being a "retard" is a "statement of fact". Well, I suppose we can give you credit for owning your limitations. If you want to ride the short bus I'm not stopping you....
Looks like the Post retracted its "story" about a Saudi national in custody. But the damage is done. How many innocent "Muslim looking people" will suffer because of this?
