so its been almost 4 years since 'chosen' first aired - it actually seems longer for some reason - and whedons got around to doing S8, albeit in comic form.

first issues quite good - definite feel of the buffy show, although with there now being lots of slayers its on a wider scale.

theres now slayer squads, xanders sort of a watcher making nick fury asides, daws lost her virginity with a unusal outsome, the US governments pissed at them and they're based in bonny wee scotland.

there is of course a mystery, some witty comments and enemies, with this seasons probable big bad being unveiled at the end and already known in the buffyverse.

    it gets 9/10

    *bump*

I think this will be the next series I collect. Yesterday I picked up BSG #6 and #7, and if I had seen this, I would've picked it up as well.

I really have a love-hate relationship with Buffy. I love the dialog, some of the characters, and the whole horror genre, but some of the stories are just plain boring. I finished season 2, and am trying to get my hands on S3 via download.

I always liked Buffy, the series, hated Buffy the character. I always thought she was uber-bitch.

While I'm collecting Buffy, I'm much more looking forward to the now-confirmed Angel Season 6. Whoo!

As an aside, I'm getting really annoyed at the people wandering into my shop who just want A) Buffy, B) The Dark Tower, or C) The Captain America death issue.

And that's all they buy. With a #$%@&#% credit card.

    Really annoys me.

So does Buffy season 8 takes place concurrently with Angel season 5?

    Agreed.

Only one I really took a shine to was Willow.

I work in a local comic store in Indy, Downtown Comics. It doesn't pay much, but I get 25% off ALL my purchases there, and it's a fun, relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Though working there, you get to see all the really sad sacks come out sometimes.

I like almost all the characters, including Buffy. Kinda hard for me to hate a pretty girl. :(

I've only watched up to season 2, and my favorite character by far is Cordelia Chase. The dialog between her and Zander have me :lmao: at times.

Well, Buffy doesn't start to get bitchy till around season 4. By season six, she's almost unbearable.

^Yup, I'm the last person to advocate violence against women, but there were times when I wanted to slap Buffy.
Although not as much as I wanted to knee Riley severely in the groin and shake Dawn until her teeth rattled... :garamet:

Is there somewhere a more extensive summary of the comic can be found? My local store doesn't have it, and I refuse to pay more than cover price for it. I'll just buy the trade when it comes out. But in the meantime I'd want to find out much more details about what's going on.
