A few years ago, I developed an automated a process to run in a few minutes what would normally take one or more people all day, every day to do. The Vice Pres. made a big deal out of it and gushed about how it would <business jargon for eliminating one or more new hires that would have been needed to fulfil the same roll>. I want to remember what that phrase was for my resume. Does anyone have a clue as to what it might have been?
@Man Afraid of his Shoes How about "circumvent?" - developed automated task that circumvented need for additional hire Or somesuch.
Yeah, I could use that and it sounds more warm and fuzzy than "kept someone unemployed", but this was a business shorthand kind of term that specifically meant keeping the headcount low. I think it may have even had an acronym. I figured it would look good on my resume, but can't remember what it was.
"manning" is squidspeak. "...developed automated task that alleviated need for additional staffing..." would work and still have that corporatese ring to it.
How about "Right-sizing"? We heard that one when they laid off 300 people in one day. It was supposed to be a nicer way of saying "down-sizing," but I thought it implied there was something wrong with all those people.
How about: developed process that was highly praised by interns who could now devote their time to running to starbucks?
We had to use a tachyon polarization to reverse the chroniton wave that made the temporal incursion possible.
