My point is, when you get a couple hours east of LA--or San Francisco--or Portland--you get out of hippy-dippy country and into Real America, where we believe in God, apple pie, and the American flag. :enty:

I need your help, Volp. I mean to make Portland far less Hippy oriented. How does a freeway down 182nd sound, running from Damascus up toward La Center?

I was born in the LA area. I've lived there long enough that 'practical experience' is irrelevant to the discussion.

The survivors would be the ones we want to be rid of. The ones that bite it... they're the tolerable* ones.

    *Tolerable being zoo exhibit material.

What I hate are the fascist cockbags who wish "belief in god" were a prerequisite of citizenship.

You, of course, were just employing your usual crayola-and-construction-paper level of subtle trolling.

The politicians in Sacramento and Washington DC view the Constitution as nothing more than an inconvenience that they can and do ignore at every opportunity.

There really is nothing to stop them either so long as we continue to re-elect the same people.

Here's a fun project: You got a $20 on you? If you don't, ask around and see if someone has one you can look at. Look at the back. Between the "20 THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 20" and the picture of The White House. What do you see? :marathon:

Some marketing slogan from 200 years ago doesn't prove monothestic beliefs are a prerequisite of citizenship. "We" are no longer a colony of white, slave-owning protestants.

There's also an American flag right beside God. And if you look closely at the second floor window farthest to the right, there's an apple pie, cooling on the sill. :enty:
