By the time me and my family get vaccinated, this bullshit is over right?

I'm apparently going to be in part of the third tier of the first COVID19 vaccine phase. My wife too. Of course my kids can't get vaccinated because, obviously, fuck them. Bars and malls are the priority.

Anyway, despite getting a vaccine in the near term, I'm looking at a year more of this lifestyle since my kids aren't clear. And then I see that not enough people want the vaccine even when available. So I've come to this conclusion. By the time my kids are vaccinated, I'm done caring about other people. By that time, every fucking adult in America will have had ample time to get the vaccine. So I'm really just being careless toward fucktard antivaxxers who have unilaterally decided to indefinitely extend the pandemic. At that point, I should do whatever I want, I've decided.

I figure by mid-2022, the only people getting and dying of COVID (which I'm sure will still be significant) will be primarily those that have refused the vaccine. And that obvious fact (like when Fox News had an epiphany in fucking September about how masks work by comparing two counties in Kansas) will still not be enough to change antivaxxers minds or end the pandemic. And since that's how it's going to be, I've decided that when me and my family are personally safe, via a 95% effective vaccine, then we're done giving a shit. Fuck masks. Fuck social distancing. Fuck delivery of every goddamn little thing.

That's my plan.

Either way, I’ll get a vaccine but my kids won’t. And their teachers will have it. And the only reason schools are closed are because of teachers concern for their own well-being. Otherwise they could give a shit. Seriously. So the schools will reopen and the kids will start spreading it like never before.

I'm immuno-compromised from a renal transplant and work in an assisted living facility with the olds, and I haven't heard squat about getting a vaccine. Guess I don't make enough money? I don't know.

Wait a sec. 25% of the US population is ineligible for the vaccine due to age. Even at the most optimistic requirements for (vaccine-based) herd immunity, 65%, there needs to be 86⅔% vaccine compliance and distribution. And that was before the B117 strain. We’re so fucked.

I thought vaccine-induced herd immunity could protect the kids along with everyone else who can’t get vaccinated (allergies, immunocompromised), choke off the virus’s spread to/through them. But without somewhere between 86⅔ and >100% 16+ vaccination rates, that’s not happening.

Of course. But like Face said, that’s a nonexistent trial. I strongly doubt the FDA would allow any combined phase II/III trials with kids either.
