Has this been asked before? Why do some (presumably in the U.S.) calendar weeks begin with Sunday and some (presumably European) calendar weeks begin with Monday? WTF? This was not especially helpful.
I don't know, but it was a PITA to convert Date::Calc results from Monday to Sunday, especially at the end of the year.
I agree it should begin on Monday also. BTW I also hate that "Fiscal Year" crap in October! Also, if the Native Americans had a standard 7-day week.... what would they do on their weekend? They sure wouldn't go fishing, hunting + horseback riding!
I always heard that it was because the working week begins on a monday, so that's the business calender, whereas before the monday - friday week, when people only had sunday off, that was the day of rest before back to work, so it was sunday - monday.
