It is always fun to hear some whiny karen tell me that I should be nice to them or else they won't be nice to me. Do you know how many times I have heard maybe if I wasn't so trans people would like me more, and I would be safer in this world? Do you know how many years I spent trying not to be me, and it made no difference at all. No one gave me credit for twenty years of putting it all inside for their comfort. For the record I have employed just such a rebuttal more times than I can begin to count (including in this thread very likely). I'm exhausted from hearing it over and over, along with "if I identify as an attack helicopter" and calling me "Tommy" as if they have cleverly sussed out my "real" name, and "what if i wake up one morning..." and 6 or 8 utterly predictable and trite cliches from 10,000 right wing ignoramuses who DON'T know any better that to parrot the bullshit the political Pharisees pour into their empty skulls.

So imagine how tiring it is to hear it from someone who doesn't need such basic concepts explained to him but inexplicably employs them anyway.

One of the reasons I always appreciated comics like pryor and murphy was that they brought up the dumb ass shit people say to black people and they were not nice and polite about it. Onet of the reasons I fell away from cosby and towards them was cosby always seemed to nice about it all. They seemed more real when they would talk about white people bullshit. Cosby was always this more polite speaking comic, but the bigots still gave him crap. Maybe they might say that one is ok, but they still did not want him around. No matter how good the cosby image was the racists were still racist. (I am putting this in terms of past opinions pre cosby fall)

It just showed me back in the day I was never really going to get anywhere by letting them tell me how to do it. I did not have much faith in the paths that were supposedly out there for me to get ahead. I guess I was really woken up when I actually started trying because I found two careers I loved. I have a love for network engineering and computer engineering. When I got into the internet and computers I just wanted to learn all sorts of things. I was in the middle of tech central NY. I went from knowing how to use a computer to probably a masters level in OS and networking in le4ss than 2 years self study. I found my path after years of not giving a shit about anything.

So I worked for it. I worked for it as a man knowing I would make the money and have the ability to be different. I was good and impressing my bosses. By the time I hit TWC I had learned how to do things the right way. I did not give a fuck the IT bubble burst because I was already way ahead of the game, and coming down a few pegs did not mean shit when I was that young. I did what was expected of me. I went with the liberal flow. I did not push myself out thewre making things hard on my employer. I shuffled along with them to transition and maintain myself as more useful than everyone else around me, Even when the bigots started coming at me I tried to be nice. I was going to be the professional. I was going to learn how to work with them as a team because that is what i was supposed to do. I was supposed to cater to their hate and do everything I could to make the haters happy with me.

The only thing the haters want you to do is get out of their bubble and die. The people who want you to be nice to them for the sake of the team or unity are part of the problem. They will press you to the haters hate like pressing your face on a burner. I try to think those middle ground people are ok people because they are not the ones who are hurting me. They are just the ones forcing me to endure the hurt of the haters.

As I realized all of trhat, I realizes people speaking spanish were great. I wish I knew this sooner so I could have learned spanish easier. The dude with his pants down around his but was just fine with me. Why the fuck do I care about his style? I can love him for his style. I am not a fan of cardi B music, but I will get down to some WAP if it is playing because it has a beat and I can dance to it. I am not going to bitch about it because people like it. This shit is not just about trans people. I may fuck up sometimes and carry some bad views. I have hurt people in the past with hateful bullshit. There is a boundary where people have to suck some shit up. We are not even close to it unless you are on the white cis side of america. Then you really need to watch your fucking mouth.

But I know you are dealing with deeply entrenched opinions, and you and I both know how fundamentalists (whether religious, political, sociological or philosophical) react. They do not like to have their cherished ideas questioned, and the reaction is always to denounce anyone who offers a viewpoint that is different from "what I've always heard".

And what they've always heard is that anyone who deviates from their idea of sexual normality (which, paradoxically, does not include "love, honour and cherish, 'till death do us part" — while they might officially "disapprove" of such things as marital unfaithfulness and divorce, those things do not attract the ire of the "family values" fundamentalists nearly as much as LGBTQ+) is "icky", "sinful" and "a danger to the children!"

I fully understand your frustrations, especially where you live, but every time you give in to them, you give the bigots ammunition to use against you. You can respond politely and with carefully researched data 99 times out of 100, and guess which instance the bigots will remember, and use to crucify you?

You are fighting a long-term battle here, and emotions are a very short-term phenomenon. I don't think you will find one single instance of someone changing their mind on an issue because you insulted them, but reasoned arguments, in the long run, can have an effect. Sometimes it's kind of like waves lashing the rocks by the seaside, but in the end those waves sometimes cause very high cliffs to crumble, if they keep at it long enough.

So don't get discouraged, and don't give in to frustrations. (Or if you do, try to keep your reactions where those who don't like what you have to say can't see them.) That's all I'm trying to say.

First establish your proper goal. If your goal is to flip the mind of a bigot, you are an idiot. If your goal is to counter the bigot you have to move on to point 2.

plan for your objective. Do no6t plan to change the opponent's mind, plan to get through to the audience with what you want to say.

Use your opponent as a springboard, and do not give a fuck. This is why the troll always wins. If you are there to beat someone down, you lose. If you are there to get seen and heard then you win. Then you just need to control what comes from you to do your thing.

In finality I shine a light on your idiocy regarding trans people, and how you come off bad. I do not really give a fuck that people might see me as mean because my goal is not to make friends. Instead the right people will remember how stupid it looks to be acting like you and probably be a lot cooler to trans people if they should meet them by not saying stupid shit to them. If I do not point out your stupid shit someone might think these idiotic comments do not grate.

Anyone who is reading this will realize it is dumb as fuck to start equivocating transgender with being a transpontiac. I realize people like @Asyncritus and @Summerteeth just do not give anough of a shit to not be an ass. but other people out here might figure out ways to bond with the trannies and not step all over their shit because stupid.

Not everyone is divided into “bigot” and “woke”. Some people are ignorant, some people have not been thoughtful and are “default” more or less repeating whatever they hear locally or grew up with. As it’s just after Passover, consider that there are 4 children, not 2: the wise and the wicked, sure, but also the simple and the one who does not know how to ask. These people can be convinced. Try to use them as a springboard and it tends to backfire. If it doesn’t produce a defensive reaction in your target (and it usually will), the folks defaulting to your side will be put off. The convincible, after very little education, can tell when you’re dunking on a bigot vs when you’re bullying someone who doesn’t know better. Like, it’s really, really obvious.

I do hear you, but I think you missed where I referred to the audience. The audience is the true goal here. Even with the small audience here you have a range of people who will take the things they read differently. I recognize Nova has the decent explanation area sewn up. I might react differently if she were not here. Instead I take my roll and go attack the attackers and expose their stupidity for the audience. You can say what you want about how you read things. I know how my methods work. As you are aware by this point, I can use multiple methods of getting my point across. I chose this particular method for my reasons, and the effects will work out on their own.

For instance, summerteeth has already admitted to taking a better stance elsewhere. Though she may not care for me, she probably changed the tone of her insinuations. I chose to be a more chaotic radical in most discussions and am well aware of what I do. People may not like my methods, but I am also not trying for the same goals or reasons you are. My methods are from my perspective and I do chose them to fit what I am trying to get across. Yes, I am having little respect for summerteeth's feelings. Even with that she did change her ways. I pretty much realized she was easily manipulated into a better stance, and Nova was already positioning her with the knowledge, and I just applied the clue with the clue by four. It seems some change was made. Since I do not give a fuck about my reputation and certain other people's feelings I can apply the clue by four with a bit more power. It is teamwork without an actual organized team.
