Exactly. I don't hate Louis CK for the initial act because I genuinely believe him when he says he thought it was all above board. The way he later recognized the issue but still publicly called the accusations lies is a much bigger concern.

Problem about being in a position of power is that people find it very difficult to see the power dynamic from others perspective. Where I work we have adult aged students and we have strict rules about not getting into compromising situations with them. Not because it's illegal, but because even if a staff member thinks they are operating in a fair and equal way that unequal power dynamic will still be there and what one party thinks is fully consensual could involve perceived pressure by the other party.

Ok, I have finally heard an explanation which explains why we have a need to fully break this sort of behavior and it leads down a path of further sexual discrimination and supports that system when we do not fully stop it in its tracks. The explanation came from a TYT discussion which might enlighten others who are so confused so I will link it. For those who do not want to watch I will explain.

The fact is that Louis used his power to control the ways women come up in the industry even if he had consent. Basically because he was asking it normalised that behavior which is not a choice they felt free to say no to, and because of that pressure his kink was pressured on women. Women do not feel free to say no or to avoid these kinks because of the way society is, and we need to pry off that oppression and make it go away in a public fashion in order to change the attitudes of society in general.

So bad Louis you contributed to the overwhelming oppression of women and we need to be loud and firm that this cannot happen and is inappropriate so get your ass in gear and cut the bullshit. I only wanted to expose that reason as it was not fully clear to me. Oh, and don't cheat on your family. Be honest about things with them.
