Well, anyone can ask to join, but Bear has stated that not everyone will be let in. While the criteria weren't laid out, the gist was those only there to disrupt things wouldn't be allowed.
It's a 'secret' group meaning you have to invited to even know that it exists. That's why when you type in Wordforge nothing comes up.
First rule of WF Facebook group is we don't talk about the WF Facebook group. I've already said too much. Or did I?
So if Castle's a member, we can assume Bear's definition of "disruptive" is as accurate as your definition of "derp."
Truthfully, when I joined it was just to interact with you assholes in real life. Which meant offering up your real identity. I never once was sold a line on it being some kind of conservative oasis.
Listen, the reason I'm asking to see it, isn't to cause problems. Obviously that's not an issue since you have members who play fast and loose with personal information already posting there. Plus John Castle posts there. The reason I'm asking is to make sense of this thread's OP. How the fuck am I supposed to respond to something I'm not allowed to read? That's pretty much the gist of what I'm getting at.
Okay, but see, nobody here has the power to add you to it. Get in touch with Bear, give him your Facebook info, and maybe he'll add you to the group.
Oh, and like Prussian Mafia said, it's more just a way to interact in real life. Nobody uses it much for anything that would typically be a Wordforge thread. It's mostly a place where people post articles about attack otters.
I'm an intelligent man, Face, but I haven't yet figured out how to compel people to cross post their Facebook shit to this hell hole.
LOL...he can't. It was specifically made not to be beholden to whoever owned or was running Wordforge. It's a seperate entity just as chat was when Elwood was in charge. Bear made it, it's his baby and his decisions.
I'm suggesting that El Chup copy/paste (something even Dayton knows how to do) the content he is posting about into this thread so others can competently discuss it.
I don't think it would be wise for El Chup to do that. Unfortunately this is one thread where you just won't be able to participate fully.
From a hidden area the members expect privacy when using? Not the most ethical choice. Plus real names abound in there as well as personal information, trying to edit it all out would be difficult and render most of what was left practically unreadable.
I'm not suggesting real names. And the fact that this thread exists already violates the "expectations of privacy," no?
That is a very succinct and accurate summary, gul. Honestly, if you have ever read a Castle tussle with someone...anyone...then you've read this one. I don't think anything new has been said.
Actually I will share my own contribution, once the thread took a right turn and somehow went from castle bitching about being banned to... something else, I'm not actually quite sure what the fuck was going on, but LOTS of posts were made (about half were 'what the fuck is going on?!?') and it pretty much became a twilight zone thread. To which I posted: And then the crazy train kept on going. It was actually quite a bizarre thread, even by WF standards.
I liked Bear once he became a normal poster. When he was Listkeeper and power hungry....not so much. I kinda think the him as two separate posters, much like Shep and Nova.
[high-pitched little girl voice] "It's a SECRET group, you don't get in because you have cooties! [/] Get a fucking life. Jesus Christ.
No, doof. It's so people's families and friends don't see their Wordforge posts and affiliation. When you start posting here with your real name then you can mock others for wanting privacy.
But it doesn't work in the opposite direction, i.e., preventing WFers from gaining access to info about members' families? Hardly seems equitable.
I'm not going to, but I was tempted at the time. We did it the last time Castle had a meltdown. There's no rule against it unless he includes unrevealed personal info and that is copy and pasted along with the meltdown. Kinda lucky I didn't actually. I "did a Castle" last night as was a bit boozed up when posting. Had been out celebrating. Feeling a bit delicate today.
