Yeah, people keep saying they need to focus Trek for a "mass audience," but given that its pretty much touched every sector of pop culture (and entered the OED), I keep wondering how much more "mass" of an audience you can get?
Just because people all laugh when William Shatner's cell phone chirps like a Communicator on Boston Legal doesn't mean they give even the smallest of shits about Trek. I mean, fuck, I know Rosebud was a sled, but I have no real desire to ever see Citizen Kane.
First off... Citizen Kane is one of the best movies ever made. You're only cheating yourself if you never see it. I have no 2nd point. I just wanted to start by saying first off. As for the vid, I feel much nerdier for having watched it, and I do admit to watching the entire thing.
Yes, and they'll probably have no desire to see the new Trek movie. Everyone seems to forget what makes a blockbuster a blockbuster: People making repeat visits to the theater to watch it.
