I haven't checked in a while, and don't really care.

You must not lead a very fulfilling life given the amount of time you're willing to dedicate to that. Sucks to be you. :(

Not that I know anything about any repwars but you're painfully stupid if you think it takes more than a few minutes to drop 30 reps on a poster.

I know that you'd love for someone to replace Kirk as your number one obsession granny but I'm not going to play that game.

Let the poor creature get what tiny little thrills he can.
They're all that warm his cold awful carcass in the long empty wait until he finally quits the breathing habit lonely and forgotten, and has his cat piss and cigarette butt infused ashes shoveled into a Dixie cup, and chucked carelessly into a landfill.

It seems these things follow a little pattern.

First, someone trolls garamet. Then when garamet has gotten fed up, she get angry enough to star a 'challenge' thread to that particular poster.

The point she doesn't realize is, they are trolls. Their strength is not in debate, but in trolling people. The fact that a gauntlet is thrown down tells everyone that the troll has already won - because they've made her pissed enough to start a thread about them.

She challenges them to try and get them to meet her on her own playing field - i.e. the field of debate. But this will never happen. Because the fact that they got a thread started about them means the troll's victory is already complete. Why would they jeopardize their victory by meeting on a field where garamet can use her writing career to her advantage?

So like Al Queda, they slink back into the shadows, and wait for another opportunity to harass and annoy her.

I think in this case, props must be given to Darkstryke.

Trolls are like the black knight, they declare victory no matter what you do.
    :dayton:

    Respond "I win!!".

Ignore 'em "I got the last word! I win!!".

Accurate to a point. Except that these little pissants don't make me *angry*. It's more a case of, as I said to UA the other day, if you find mildew in the shower, do you ignore it or reach for the Lysol?

So, combining this with your previous post, you seem to be another adherent of the Lisa Method.

How effective is that? Ignore them and they really do go away? Not that I've noticed.

Victory? If "being shown as an unimaginative tool" = victory, then then terrorists have won.

As an incarnation of al Qaeda? I think you give him too much credit. Unless you're referring to the South Park version.

Your Lysol analogy tells me your goal is to try and get rid of them, with your 'challenges' being the 'Lysol'?

What is the Lisa method?

If you ignore them, you frustrate their very reason for posting little potshots against you - that is, to get a response, as this thread is an example of.

I will give you this though, that it did succeed in driving off KIRK the first time. Time will tell if it works for Darkstryke. (I wouldn't bet money on it though.)

And why is it so important to you that they 'go away'?

Not get rid of them as in drive them off the board; if TPTB don't mind 'em infesting the place, that's fine with me. However, I'm hoping to convey the message that if they intend to troll me, they're going to have to work at it.

Lisa at TBBS used to PM me about :enty: all the time. "Just IGNORE him!!!"

I'd ask her if she'd PM'd him as well, and I never got an answer.

Tamar's advice to me has been the same, along with "Everybody's a troll."

So if everybody's a troll, what's the point of calling certain posters trolls? :clyde:

As is obvious from the "quality" of their comebacks, they have to work REAL. HARD. to sustain a troll against me. Usually they'll do a Face and just walk away. And they're forced to think of some new thing they think will get under my skin.

They fail to realize they cannot make me angry. But they keep trying. It's cute, actually.

Out of curiosity, how long does it take? The majority of Sokar's posts in the RR are to troll me.

I ignored him for over a year. No impact.

Now, granted, some people are just slow learners, but seriously...

Cue stream of obscenities from Sokar...

Given darkstryke's limited attention span, I'm mostly content to point and laugh when he comes back with the same tired copycat routine looking for more abuse.

Ever try to teach a cat to stop clawing the curtains? Five minutes later, they're right back at it. That's darkstryke. Except cats are prettier.

Go away as in "leave WF"? Nah. As I say, if TPTB don't mind having vermin in the house, who am I to complain?

I just intend to reiterate the same message (You can't piss me off, but you keep coming back for more, dontcha, dimbulb?) until they either (A) grasp Einstein's definition of insanity, or (B) someone comes up with a better suggestion than "just ignore them," or (C) the annoyance factor among the rational posters reaches critical mass, and instead of :nono: me, they reach for the Lysol themselves.

All evidence to the contrary, I really do believe there is a rational human being behind most usernames. I live in hope.

    I don't understand.

I don't often agree with darkstryke, but I've never seen him back out of a discussion.

Is there something I'm missing here?
