    Getting them, again.

Seem to be just heartburn, but they are annoying.

BP doesn't spike and pulse only rises marginally. I take two aspirin and a Zantac and they fade.

Happened at MM's when I began mowing her lawn...stopped and drank a Gatorade and I was fine. :calli:

Sounds like you got something clogged somewhere. Have you tried running really, really fast to knock it loose?

    No...I don't run.

Nor am I a couch tater. I'm overweight, but not as much as I was a year ago...and didn't have any chest pains. I still think it's heartburn.

Have you tried pressing your ribs, and seeing if you got a burp stuck somewhere?

No, but when I do rip one, the pains stop for a bit. I think it's just gas.

    I didn't eat anything after about 1pm.

At least that's what I hope they are...everybody keeps telling me to get to the VA.

    I ain't bleedin'. :garamet:

I know that comes off as a "John Wayne" approch, but I have a tough time justifying a VA visit that might take a docotr's time away from people there with combat injuries.

Aspirin doesn't seem like the best thing to take for stomach problems.

    Zantac works great though. :techman:

That's might be where the pain is, but if it is heartburn or acid reflex it has its origin in the stomach.

Tech, don't be dumb. You got chest pain when you're exerting yourself? Go see the doc. You catch a clogged artery early enough, you can fix it before there is any damage. Wait until you have the coronary, and even if you survive, there will be heart tissue damage that will grind you down and maybe give you an ugly death from congestive heart failure or something.

Get it checked out. They can run your enzymes with a simple blood test, and do an EKG. Why risk it?

Diacanu, Marso and everybody else is right.

    Go to the doctor.

If you've looked up chest pains online you know the advice is basically, go to the emergency room, have somebody drive you to the emergency room or call 911 for a ride. There are plenty of causes for chest pain, some are nothing more than heartburn but do you really want to risk it?

And the hypothetical situation you've offered is far from a legitimate excuse for not seeking treatment.

Seeing a doctor is a must. My father suffers from Angina and it's onset sounded very familiar. He left it too long and ended up having open heart surgery and the hardening of his arteries was too far along by the time he got treatment. Considering you're overweight and the American diet generally has a lot of fat and salt in it then you'd fit teh same physical profile as him.

Check it out. You don't want a heart attack or invasive surgery that'll increase your insurance premium.

Your innards are seizing up. Eat generous amounts of butter to kind of grease it all up.

^ Do so, don't avoid it just because you're a man and therefore too proud. Hell, I've been guilty of the same thing in the past but things that have happened to me and the people around me tells me that the "bury your head in the sand" approach both harms the person suffering and their loved ones.

I'm hoping this is just a troll, but in case it isn't, yeah, Tech, go to a doctor ASAP.
