you basically answered your own question - the guy was black, full stop. Video evidence be damned, he should be given a pass. Guarantee even the most bigoted, racist cop would shoot a white man trying to pull a gun after being confronted, if only out of self-preservation on the part of the cop. After seeing the video and hearing the claims he had a license to carry makes this being a "good shoot" a slam-dunk. Let me preach on it: anyone going through the vetting required to legally carry in Illinois has had 16 hours of mandatory training (among many other requirements). I'm thinking (correct me if I'm wrong) but "run from the cops when confronted about your weapon" was not the proper answer to a test question on any version of the test.
