I'm going to put mine up tonight, hell or highwater. Last night I got sidetracked as my Mom and younger sister were in town and by the time I got home and started moving stuff around for the tree, it was late. And I don't like to vacuum and disturb the older lady downstairs from me.

I've bought some pretty silver plastic ornaments this year, since Smokey kept knocking my old, sentimentals off the tree last year and breaking them. So I figured why get upset at Christmas, so just get some unbreakable ones.

If I can find a place for the tree, ours will probably go up in a week or so. I normally put the decorations up about a week before Christmas. I usually put them up, so of course they're a work of art. Not sure I would dare put up a pic. :D

The tree is up, the lights are up, the garlands and balloons festoon the ceiling...

I just put up my fiber-optic star-wars-covered 3-foot tree. I'll have pictures for it this weekend.

    As promised:

So, the day after thanksgiving I went to Big Lots. I was just cruising, not looking for much. I stuck my business card in the box at the front, and won a fiber-optic christmas tree.

Now, I'm a bit of a bachelor, so I didn't have any ornaments. Or so I thought. Turns out I've been subconsciously nerdy over the years, and had over a dozen Star Wars ornaments.

Yoda, stormtroopers, even an AT-AT, they're all there for the perusal. Sadly, Darth Vader is too heavy, and must rule over the tree from the table-top.

I think the tree fits in pretty nicely with the living room, don't you?

Personally, I really like the posters. :techman:

We put the tree up. We had to tie it to a hook in the wall to keep it from falling over. We've had the tree for 7 or 8 years.

The cat got 3/4 of the way up the tree before Dad yelled at him. He hasn't gone near the tree since. :P

I'll post pics if I remember to.

Sorry about the crap quality, but I don't have Photoshop on my new comp yet. Last year she had leaves, but she hasn't recovered from the harsh summer yet. =\

I wasn't gonna put up a tree this year.

I mean, there just isn't enough time, really. It seemed pointless.

But then I got to thinking about it. We have all these old ornaments passed down from generation to generation, ornaments my great-grandparents made by hand, not to mention the ornament my dearly beloved grandmother would give me every year for Christmas...there's just so much tradition wrapped in that tree. I know my mom's a little sad we haven't put it up yet, and now that I think about it, I'm sad too.

I'll put it up tomorrow afternoon and take pictures for everyone.

And here's mine, very small since I'm short on space in a 1-bed apartment. Blurry due to using night mode (had to have the room lights off to see the fibre-optics properly).
