So, since Hollywood hasn't come up with anything interesting to watch on TV lately (IMHO!), let's come up with some ideas of our own... Mine: "World War Z" - based of course, on the novel. This series will follow the adventures of Tex Ancalagon, a young soldier, from the disastrous annihilation of the US Army at the Battle of Yonkers, through the desperate struggle to clear the Western Safe Zone of zombie infestation, to the slow, epic battle to reclaim America from the undead. Let's hear 'em if you got 'em.
Baba: not only some hot lesbian scenes, but also lots of space battles and cussing. On SPIKE, of course.
Toilet Talk: Just me on the toilet taking my morning super-dump, commenting on life's conundrums and mysteries (with occasional co-hosts).
[Network exec] Call it "Mighty Wings", make that the themesong, and work fried chicken in, and make KFC the sponsor, and then you've got something!
Cock Blockers : A group of animal rights people going undercover to bust illegal chicken fighting. What else would fit the title?
Space aliens on a "reality" show. Something to do with fashion, so that their behavior would be more acceptable. Or a What if? alternate historical drama.
The Long Journey (It's a working title) A massive city ship has left Earth on it's way to a new world to colonize. The colonists are in stasis/suspended animation for the long journey with the exception of the guardians who are awakened every cycle in order to do routine maintenance to the ship. Halfway during their journery, the guardians are woken up early as a section of the suspension units have started to malfunction. They can revive the colonists, but there is no way to repair the malfunctioning system. Two of the guardians give up their chance at suspension in order to remain behind with those whose systems had failed. The ship has a massive hydroponics system and they manage to recycle the air and water. They just have to live out their lives knowing they will never reach the new world. The guardians lead the group of colonists as they deal with the day to day struggles in their artificial world. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, don't quit my day job.
True dat. When I first came in the Air Force I saw one of the last of the Warrant Officers eating in a mess hall. The Army is full of them - I just had a bud go from enlisted to warrant. Know a few who went warrant to be helicopter pilots.
i've been working on and off on 'Pestilence', a script about one of the four horsemen acting as a private detective whilst awaiting for armageddon. it's a twisted comedy drama
Palpating the Membrane, a gritty tv horror comedy about three college students who raise the dead, open wormholes, reincarnate professors, and attempt to slay a centuries-old milquetoast vampire. O_o And yes, there's going to be women. Topless, if you rep me enough.
Uh-huh. Mine has zombies, vampires, AND sex. >> Admittedly most of it's of a manly persuasion, but we'll throw some fanservice toplessness of a female variety.
Boise Wings of Gold!! Every week: Marso pulls a lot of G's, rolls in on the towlies (or Mormons) and smoke's 'em, then rips off to the bar to get fucked up while the bimbo of the week falls all over him. Can I play myself?
Lucifer's Hammer Based on an update of the novel, covers some similar ground to shows like Jerico but without the radioactive aspects. The initial season, similary to shows like 'The 4400' is almost like a miniseries with a lot of wide ranging plot threads (since the novel features a huge case of characters) and by the end of the first season has coalesced down to a primary focus on the community built by Sen. Jeilson. And since I'd go for a really high profile actor in that role like James Garner. China Grove inspired by the fact that the Doobie Brothers song sounds so much like a theme song...here's a little monster that's one part Desperate Housewives, one part Pickett Fences. A tongue-in-cheek soap opera with a dose of David E. kelly off-the-wall-ness. With the classic song as theme music of course. Comin' Home Also inspired by a song - this one an album cut by Bob Seger - touches on a story that's been done before (haven't they all?) but hopefully with a new spin. Famous singer (probably female) loses career (maybe drug addiction?) but the reasons are unpubliciszed - her reputation is intact but the label has dropped her and her records don't sell. think here maybe a Patty Loveless type if you know country music. So she goes back home to the relatively small Kentucky town she grew up in...and ends up as music teacher at the local high school. This wouldn't be solely a "foumous teacher" show but she would draw a lot of renewed spirit from teaching, but also about her relationship with her family...including the singing sister who missed out on a chance at the career that our protagonist had when she got pregnant in high school and the religious parents who were never comfortable with her career anyway and the ex-husband who was left behind when the career took off. (some of these backgroud elements are drawn from various singers' real life including from Loveless) if I was a full time script writer like JCD i'd actually be pitching this one - I think it has legs.
Star Knights Premise: an alien virus is mutating humans, turning them into meta-humans with superhuman powers and abilities. The earth ios experiencing rampant abductions of its people by the Grays of UFO lore for sinister and unknown purposes, and the metahumans are recruited to fight them in outer space.
