Are these motherfuckers for real? I mean holy shit, I've got Korean and Chinese propaganda posters that weren't this blatantly propaganda. Fucking GATE was more subtle than this shit.

What y'all say, wordforge, you want commie propagandists around your kids?

Next up, a trip to North Korea - "there were hardly any cars on the roads. The people must be very concerned about their carbon footprint!"

Apt comparison! I was just going to say they probably took their cue in praising totalitarian dictators from the President of the United States.

Americans are dying in 2019 because they can't afford insulin. But sure, Venezuela is a failure.

It is always easier to defelect and look at someone else when you are failing miserably. It is the american way. We have tons of problems, but we are going to tell other countries how to run their shit. Why would a country who has failed so hard as to have Trump as president be considered some authority on how to establish a fair and just government?

If you find anything positive about Venezuela's government, political situation, economy, etc. as it stands today, well, you are just truly fucked in the head. No amount of medicine will cure you of what's afflicting you.

No, they're both socialist shitholes, but you almost have to admire Chavismo's ability to take a semi-prosperous country and bring it down to North Korea's level so quickly.

The problem with venezuela is a bit more than they are socialist. That is like saying the problems of america when it first started (slavery, sexism, and imperialistic genocide of natives) were a problem with capitalism. We can recognize that socialism and capitalism can be used by society to harm people, and that it is the motivations and morals of society that need to be addressed and made ethical.

So what? The United States' leader loves North Korea. Clearly being a socialist shithole and a soul-crushing tyranny aren't all that important.

This tends to happen to every country that attempts to extricate itself from Washington's control, socialist or otherwise. It's a lot like the mafia.

I recall some gloating about power outages in Venezuala a while back, not so much about the toxic drinking water in NJ.

Venezuela may be failing, but let's be honest, it's had a lot of help to get that way.

Strange how Vietnam has prospered since the war.

Yeah, but the US has for quite some time deliberately created these situations. Venezuela/US relations has long been characterised by destructive interventions of one form or another

It's hardly fair to point at a country you had a large hand in destabilising and say "look what a mess they are in".

No. That is not the question. The question is, Why the fuck are people dying from lack of insulin when there is enough insulin? And the answer to that is decidedly not, Because Venezuela.

Yeah, it was dumb, but firing teachers because of their political leanings is a pretty dangerous proposition. Kind of sounds like something that would happen in a communist country.

There is a difference between firing someone for voting for a democrat or a republican and for making blatant pro violent dictator propaganda. They are doing this wacky shit in their off time, what are they doing in the classroom? It's genuinely concerning.

    No there isn't.

Someone is entitled to their political beliefs, they are entitled to express them.

You don't get to decide what is or isn't a legitimate belief and nor should an education authority. It's censorship of the very kind that supporters of the US constitution are so willing to object to when it's convenient to do so.

And if these teachers were expressing a political view you disagreed with, in the classroom, which is the context of my above post, you'd be calling for their heads. Lets take a look at the following statement, really take your time to take it in. Run the scenario through your head, and how it would effect you.

So what if the teacher was teaching the kids about how hitler didn't go far enough with the holocaust instead of math, and passed out copies of mein kampf, you don't get to decide what is or isn't a legitimate belief and nor should any education authority, the teacher is entitled to their political beliefs, and to express them.

    You done?

    Really drunk it in?

Didn't sit well, did it? The thought probably made you pretty upset. One, with the teacher doing this, and two, with the person who would say this.

Congratulations, you just looked into the mirror and saw your reflection.
