My ISP has sent me two security warnings over the last month stating that my computer has been reported as sending SPAM. When I spoke with them and asked for clarification they directed me to this website: http://cbl.abuseat.org/ I looked up my IP address and sure enough, there was a report. I use a cable modem with a wireless router but the wireless feature has been disabled. I also actively run antivirus software and a firewall. I conducted a number of manual antivirus and antispyware scans using different services yesterday and my PC came up clean. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I must admit that I've been using Bittorrent a bit over the last month to download all those fanfilms Scorponok posted, which is the only explanation I can think of. Is there something in Bittorrent that would compromise my computer's security? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe your PC is a victim of THE KRAKEN! http://www.darkreading.com/document.asp?doc_id=150292 Although it doesn't say at that link, it does say in an article I read the otehr day that the botnet is used to send spam. Couldn't find that article again though.
No idear... it says 80% of virus scanners fail to find it. Plus it says it hides variants of itself in different areas so it can reinfect the system even if it was supposedly cleaned.
