He said that his program alone was 50 million gigaquads, much larger than the humanoid brain. However when Sisko and his Command crew were stored in the holo buffer and loaded into the James Bond Holoprogram Eddington had to wipe everything in DS9’s computer to make room. Why did Voyager have so much larger of a computer than an entire space station?
Voyager was a top-of-the-line Federation starship, DS9 has to make do with a jury-rigged mashup of Cardassian junk and Starfleet patchjobs.

The Intrepid class was designed for long range scientific exploration, specifically. The Galaxy class was built for long range exploration as well, but of the diplomatic and "routine mapping mission" variety. Remember how Voyager had the bio-neural gel packs? They made a big deal about how advanced the computer system was.
